I will just buy the mask I want(Mr. Hyde). I have bought a couple of masks from him in the past and they are great to deal with. I just wanted to try painting that one.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThe Hyde that I posted was a painted uncut version from Jeff, it wasnt a blank, I just painted right over it with thin inks etc....Ive done this on many of the death studios masks and it works out nice, still very flexible etc....Casey Death Studios - TallDarkandDisfigured - 08-03-2008 You don't get cracking issues like that Casey? It takes a lot of patients but building up the colors lightly and slowly is the best results. I also use sealers that are flexible except epoxy for eyes etc....I use either VMATT sealer or for the death studios masks I use Liquetex Gloss varnish and Matt Varnish mixed together 50/50 then thinned slightly with water and airbrush this on to seal Up the work and this will be flexible. Long time ago I used to use Crystal clear and dulling spray lightly on the mask but if you go to heavy on crystal clear your mask will crack.Casey Death Studios - reddwarf - 08-04-2008 <!--quoteo(post=269965:date=Aug 3 2008, 05:23 PM:name=YOUR BOOGEYMAN)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(YOUR BOOGEYMAN @ Aug 3 2008, 05:23 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=269965\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecNo cracking issues cause I paint very thin with the FW paints. If he doesn't answer I would think that's a pretty good indication of what his answer is. Death Studios - TallDarkandDisfigured - 08-04-2008 Maybe the crystal clear is what gave me issues in the past?? My paint never had a problem but after sealing and letting it dry I got some flexability and cracking problems.. I'm no pro either so I'm just guessing.. Death Studios - SuperDanDrista - 08-04-2008 Ya it's the clear coat.Casey will attest to this. Back a few years ago I had some masks that casey painted..in fact, one of them was from death studios. Anyway, the owner I knew used heavy gloss coat and the paint cracked. But casey's usual really high end ink paint never cracks unless you put that clear coat on it heavy because once that cracks it pulls whatever else is there with it. I imagine it would do that to any paint Death Studios - YOUR BOOGEYMAN - 08-04-2008 oh yeah I know the certain someone your talking about and DAM did he put a shit load of clear coat on some very nice masks and ruined them all!!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"ohmy.gif\" /> Casey |
