Emmett Kelly ? - Baroness - 04-14-2009 Ill give anyone $1000 bucks if they sell it to me. Emmett Kelly ? - djlovedump - 04-14-2009 I did an interview with Don Post, Jr. a while ago and here is some information about the 2 masks from Halloween 1978."Two people from the ‘Halloween’ production staff showed up. They wanted two Kirk masks cast in white with black hair. It was the busy (Halloween mfg) season and we (Don Post Studios) did not have the time to custom make masks. We had a few Kirk masks available. I had someone, I can't remember who (may have been Bill Malone or Bob Short but could have been someone else) paint over the Kirk mask with white paint (side burns removed) and paint the hair black. After these folks left Bill Malone had another Kirk mask painted and he kept it." "The Halloween people have said they were originally looking at a Don Post Emmett Kelly Clown mask for the role of Michael. I understand the production staff had purchased an Emmett mask along with several Kirks from Hollywood Magic (6660 Hollywood Blvd). They claim they painted those masks from Hollywood Magic to depict "The Shape" from the Movie Halloween. I suspect they did repaint whatever masks they used in the movie. (Blue was added to lips and other features for photographic reasons)" Emmett Kelly ? - WarLocK - 04-14-2009 Interesting Billy.... so he said that blue was added to the lips and other parts of the converted Kirks for the film? That is a small detail that I've never noticed. A white mask is extremely hard mask to photograph especially under movie lighting conditions, it will show up as a white blob. With the 'Halloween' newly found footage I have you will see, hopefully one day, what they were doing to test mask under those conditions because it's in there.
