They have been around much much longer and with the remakes...I don't see how they couldn't be. There is a lot more you could do with those titles as a game than some pointless gorefest.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndI realize that, you're missing my point, I am talking about their popularity with 13-22 year olds who they market games too. Saw is more popular with them then any of the old school slashers. That age group doesn't care whats been around longer, Saw is new, came out during their time, has made a fortune, and has a new movie every year. I am not talking about broad popularity. I am not saying they couldn't do more with those titles, I think they could. We however are a minority. People who are into old school slasher horror aren't exactly mainstream fans that a multimillion dollar video game would be marketed to. Anyone See This? Saw Videogame Trailer - Deadguy71 - 07-24-2009 Good call Vfan. I was about to reply something similar.. it's just a different target audience.Plus, in game terms, in Saw you'll be running around trying to figure-out and save people from traps, escape from the maze, etc. Cool sets, gory game puzzles, etc.In Halloween/F13, you'll stab people.. and then stab people and then walk after people that you later pop out in-front of and then stab. (heh.. that could be a power-up)If it ran like a GTA game, you'd stab and hide and then stab and hide while the police go hunting for you. That holds at least a little promise, but it's still like a 1st person shooter with no gun and a driving game with no car. There's a limit to how fun it'd be chasing people.Heh.. first person stabber. You know what might translate into a really good game? "Behind the mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon"You have your targets, and their backgrounds, you choose your legend, pick your location, and then plan out how things might go (by playing it and picking out various execution equipment purchased with money that's based on how well each "scene" goes). Then the game takes over and you basically watch the differences between the plans and the reality, getting points when you correctly predicted the scenario outcomes. (ie- you think noone will look there until later, or noone will begin to panic until THIS point.)The points you get will help you by more execution equipment for the next level, etc.Hmm.. Or Hostel might be good too. A very basic version of something that's kinda' like one of those tycoon games. Satisfy the clientelle, keep the victims secured, hire better "grunts" to go seduce more victims, etc.. Do you trust your client, or do you need to make an undercover agent "disappear" within your walls? etc. etc.. If handled right, it could be pretty (Dern, I done gone and growed another head) cool. Anyone See This? Saw Videogame Trailer - mperaginejr - 07-24-2009 Good ideas Deadguy. I always had an idea, kind of a horror game with mini scenarios, called Survival or something. Each level is random, and you are thrust into a scenario: you awaken, partially drugged, in a room similar to hostel, your are bound and gagged, someone is about to enter the room, tables full of knives, and arm is free...can your survive???can pay homage to horror movies by throwing scenes in similar to nightmare, halloween, friday, etc., and have real life scenarios like bank robbery, car jacking, etc., an as youa dvance, your character gets tougher, has better items to start with, and so forth Anyone See This? Saw Videogame Trailer - Mutilated - 07-24-2009 Hey, they made a videogame for Jaws where all you do is swim around and eat people, so why not a Jason or Myers game. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\" ![]() |
