I mean I'm not sure Fred would had a knife maker making his blades. Imagine the killer feeling when you take a real knife and arrange it to be solder on a dirty piece of copper <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> Are you going to put your sweet fingertip weathering on this one?<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndYeah.. I'm going to really take my time with this one. Freddy must have been good with knife-making because he took steak/fillet knives, flipped them upside down, and put a very fine and razor sharp edge on what used to be the blunt top part of the blade. That takes some skill.... skills that I don't have.

That's exciting Mark. I thought I was alone with the real blade fixation. In the past a few other members expressed the same interest. However, they were harshly ridiculed by others who thought they were clearly demented for wanting a real glove or that such a glove would be far too unsafe for one to own. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Rolleyes\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> My goal is to create a replica with the authentic make/model fillet knives that were used on the original (complete with the newly ground razor edge). I've been searching for these discontinued ekco knives on ebay for years. In the process, I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on literally hundreds of similar knives only to discover slight differences in the blade shape, bevel, etc. Anyway, I recently finally found two of the actual knives and I'm so excited about it. I'm 10000% positive that they're the exact ones used on the original and now that I know the make/model it will be a lot easier to find more. I've never cared for Travis Cowsill's fake edging fx. After about 20 years of building/collecting gloves myself, I want one that's real.
