I don't think they color-coded the hems back then. Even today I can find gloves of different sized with the same color hems. But I remember being told from a very reliable source (of course... can't remember who it was) but they said it is definitely a medium glove in the first film.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndi don't doubt that the first film used a medium or smaller glove. i just don't see the glove pictured above being a medium. it's just too big on his hand. you can even tell that the backplate is riveted about an inch or so above the pull strap. also, in the first two pictures you can see how the middle finger seems to be bunched up. it curls up towards the glove like it's been pulled down to fit the tips of his fingers so the glove doesn't stick out.you could be right about the colored hem. the only thing is, it's the exact same brown i see today on most large color coded leather work/driver gloves. It pulls the leather on the wrist area up above the pull-strap and I believe that is what makes the glove look so short on Robert's wrist. You'd think that would be easy to replicate but to this day, I still can't seem to get my gloves, or anyone else's gloves, to do that consistently.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndAre you assuming the bottom of the backplate is actually connected to the glove? Travis at Kruegear showed off a new Part 1 glove that looks fantastic but he didn't attach the bottom rivet to the glove itself. It really gave the look and movement of the glove a much more authentic look when compared to the film so I thought I'd look into it myself to see if this rivet was attached or not. I can't seem to find a shot where the bottom rivet is the ONLY rivet that's not attached but I seem to only find that all three were attached to the glove. The gloves had no ringlets on it at the time of shooting this. The glove was held on to Robert's fingers by rubberbands. So, the glove had not yet been attached to the leather AT ALL (no rivets in the backplate) at this point.
