Vacuu-forming if you know how to do it. I don\'t.

How I did it, although it may sound silly, is followed the guide on one website, that told me to make them out of placemats.

Yes, I said it. Placemats.

It might sound stupid , but I think they work great. If you follow the template on one site, you can design a armor that is identical to the one worn on film, except that instead of plastic, it will be made out of pliable rubber. You then prime them and spray paint them a shiny gloss coat of black and steel. I put actual steel rods under my armor to reinforce it. What ends up happening is that you arne\'t as confined as you would be in a plastic armor suit like most have. You can turn your shoulders and the armor conforms to you. In stead of the other way around...

Now, upclose, if someone manhandles you, they\'ll obviosuly tell that it isn;t of the greatest material. But I think it worked for my costume. One day I might buy the plastic of fiberglass armor, but considering that I wanted an ANH costume, 75% of the armor wasn\'t going to show anyways cosndiering that in an ANH costume, the undercape goes OVER the armor.

I\'m a short leetle Vader, only 5\'11" or 6\'. My Armor came from Vaderpainter\'s collection of Galaxy Trading\'s supply after they shut down. My boots are rubber equestrian riding boots, my gloves, shins, and chest box came from Spacepacks.org (I think they shut down) and I had the capes and suit made for me. The body suit is one piece vinyl. I had my mom pick up the vinyl for me (bad idea...) I wanted the duller looking stuff, but she said that the woman at the store said that if I was going to be moving around that I\'d want the softer, less stiff stuff... Well, I wanted the stiff stuff, cuz let\'s face it, in a Vader costume there isn\'t alot of moving around that is going to be done... Tongue I was kinda pissed, but you can\'t very well return fabric, so I went ahead and had the suit made outta the vinyl... People actually seem to like the shine, even though it pisses me off, cuz it\'s not accurate... The cod piece cost me $250.00, and was made by Scott Steeber. The Lightsaber is an Anakin Kenner lightsaber that I hacked the blade out of (those blades don\'t just pull straight out, those suckers are in there...) and painted. I made the belt, but before Celebration III I am going to make another one, or I may just bite the bullett and buy one... It seems as though if I buy something, it always looks better than what I make... funny how that works out. I, too got the CA DP Vader Helmet RIGHT before they went out of comission... It cost me $130.00. I put aluminum tusks in it, and NASA grade acrylic lenses in it... I want to send it over to Vaderpainter to have it painted up, but I don\'t think I can really afford that... I think he charges quite a bit for the paintjob... I also want to get some lifts on my boots, but not anything huge, I don\'t want KISS boots... maybe another two inches. Anywho, I hope this helps, and good luck!!! Take care!!!
