Don't get me wrong, I LOOOVE this forum and actually began liking this forum - specifically because it was a small community (and even more specifically, one which did not have 16,000 different categories to post in.) And I still love it. I'm not complaining whatsoever, I just wasn't sure why the traffic dropped.
Sure, one can cite the economy, as I'm sure it has affected everyone's collecting habits. but does that really affect one's ability to post? I guess I visit this board regardless of whether or not I am currently in the market to buy.
And lastly, and I'm sure I'm stating the old "OBVIOUS" and "So What else is New," as well as "that's never going to Change" here, but the traffic lately seems to be all about the four core slasher icons. I guess I just miss the eclectic mix that we used to have.
Can't anyone post about Madman Marz anymore? Or "I'm bored, so I'm going to post new pictures of my collection?" This board even used to have active discussions about horror films starting on the night they came out. I'm not sure I saw a thread posted this entire fall (the height of the horror movie season).
Once again, I'm not complaining. I love it here. I love the atmosphere. I remember how it used to be when I joined back in '04, but I guess I still love random diversity too.
I guess if I'm going to post about wishing to see occasional randomness of this board, perhaps it should start with me.
I'll throw in 5 random pics that I've nabbed from this board in the old days. (Great pics too) Hopefully no one minds me posting them again (if so, just let me know and I'll take 'em down)

If you want my opinion, I think this forum's traffic slowed dramatically since it was redesigned. Before the redesign, you could post something and get lots of responses in a very short period of time. Now, it seems like you have to wait days on end to get a handful. I don't come here much anymore since the redesign. I liked it better before...

Reasons I don't post so much now:
1.) Economy. I rarely ever get new pieces these days.
2.) I almost never feel like taking my old masks out from underneath their trash bags for some new photography. (I will do that again soon, though.)
3.) I'm pretty involved in my own sculpting projects now, which take up a lot of my free time.
4.) I rarely ever watch movies and almost never see movies in the theater.
5.) I'm not as angry as I used to be in my teenage years and most of the members who ticked me off are now banned. In addition, many of my friends moved on with their lives and stopped collecting, so I no longer post any jokey/sarcastic threads because nobody else would involve themselves in it or get the point.
6.) People will go on thinkin' whatever they want to think, regardless of what I say. Why argue?

I'm also not a fan really of the re-design, I prefer how it used to look. I don't post on here much these days either. I do think NIGHTOWL is missing a trick by not being enabled to be viewed on smart/android cell phones through tapatalk etc. I'd probably come here a bit more if I could easily log in on my i-phone. Thats a big set back for me so thats why I'm on springwood slasher more really these days, plus I'm a huge Freddy fan,lol. :thumbsup:

That's strange, I have an iPhone and there is nothing on NIGHTOWL I can do on my computer that I can't do on my iPhone. Full site. I'm sitting on the can at work right now posting this. LOL!!

I try to get on here when i can, and love the forum. The only thing i can say for myself is i have been spending money on other things and that has taken away from the mask collecting, plus im running out of room and want to be very selective in what i will buy. And as for posting comments, sometimes someone will put up a new score and when you see it, its the same mask you have seen from eveyone else including my own copy, so its like been there done that. Please dont take that the wrong way, because i know how AWESOME it is to get that mask you have been waiting for and want everyone to see it, i know i do. I know thats kind of goofy to say, cause if no one put up there scores cause someone else might have seen it or own it...we wouldnt have much of a forum.

Yeah, I've read alot of silly status post with peeps posting their every move.
I personally don't see why you can't have both w/o hurting the other. I do like facebook and like the horror forums as well. The growing popularity of social networks doesn't pull my interest away from places like NIGHTOWL.
