I STILL say that about Evil Dead II.
I was entertained but the whole thing is just overall silly and predictable. I don\'t regret seeing it in the theater but I won\'t be running out to add it my dvd/bluray collection when it\'s released. Not the "game changer" people are hyping it to be, in my opinion.

Just saw it with my mom, tonight. I love our horror movie dates. She\'s the one who got me into horror at a young age, so it\'s always fun to share a new slasher flick with her for the first time. Possible spoiler below.
We both agreed that despite the last 5-10 minutes (the whole "ritual/god" explination) the movie was different and FUN! The humor of the movie was a great balance to the horror. The stoner had us rolling. (no pun intended LOL)
Anyways, I wen\'t into with no expectations and just went along for the ride. Didn\'t try to figure anything out, didn\'t try to solve any riddles, just enjoyed each minute as it passed. Was a fun movie, plain and simple. Not ground breaking, but I\'d definitely like to see it again and pay more attention to detail now that I\'m aware of the full plot.

I didn\'t much care for it. Too silly and cheeky for my tastes. The third act was fun to watch with all the mayhem that ensued, but the final reveal was a letdown in how they paid it off onscreen. Could\'ve been much cooler, say, along the lines of Hellboy. I wanted to see a giant Lovecraftian beastie rise up and destroy the earth lol.
All in all, I\'d say it\'s mildly entertaining. Far from unwatchable, but it\'s pretty overrated IMO and getting WAAAY too much hype right now. To each his own, though.
