I completely agree...this is the kind of thread that I like reading Smile

Great post, Trav...you hit the nail on the head with what probably 99% of us collectors want...some realize it and some don\'t. The bottom line is, we want something that gives us that \"feeling\". I\'m sitting here next to my Anders part 1 glove...I\'m sure it\'s not the most acurate thing ever built, and compared to what Bill said, it\'s definitely not like what was used in the film. But I look at it, wear it, and I get that \"feeling\"...like I am 9 years old again and watching ANOES, and making finger knives out of tin foil. And now I have something that looks liek what I was trying to recreate... Speaking of which, that[\'s why I also want a Boiler Room glove from Bill...seeing pics of that made me want of of those so bad...because it was just like what I remember seeing.

Another good example is this place I used to work. It was a prepress place where we did test prints of images for all sorts of companies. We also did photo touch ups and one of the companies we dealt with was Hanes. More specifically, Hanes Her Way. Without going into graphic detail, let me just say that what you see in those catalogs is faaaar away from the real thing. I saw those pictures fresh from the photo shoot, with all the markings on overlays with what to change here, what to change there... I even kept a couple myself when I left that job simply because of how ridiculous they were. Everything from airbrusing out stray hairs (you know what I mean - this is underwear people - use your imagination) to shaving literally millimeters off the curve of an ankle. For what?

Illusion. What do most men want...the girl in the magazine, or the one that looks like she\'s got Buckwheat in a headlock? Yeah, that\'s what I thought... And to any girls reading this, that was meant with no disrespect...I\'m talking in general here.

Anyway, you get my point...I\'ll stop rambling Smile Damn, I have a nasty habit of that on this thread...

GOD BLESS JUSTIN, MARK, CROSPY, MIKE, BILL, BOB, and anyone else who trys to recreate that lil glimmer on the TV screen that made twisted thoughts go into our heads LOL

Quote:Now the screen used hockey masks were high impact .060 abs plastic. Extremely thin, light, and flexable.

Well, if this pertains to 3 and 4 this is because the mask WAS thicker, seeing as in it was made from fiberglass. If you have doubts on this, ask David Miller who had the original part 3/4 Hero on set during the making of New Begining when he was converting the molds for vacuform*making a stone posetive*...Or if you need to hear it from the horses mouth DW who owns the 3/4 Hero which was used during the hospital shot of F5 has said so. Then of course there is Savini who says they were made from fiberglass, yet then also says a canadian hockey maker makes them, lol. This being said mainly because sometimes people feel illusions are created, even though it is just fact being warped into fiction. Though, I deffiently agree with you on some points you made. People always say "accurate as possible", then comlain because it doesn\'t accomidate there size. Geez, if we made all Jason masks the size of kanes melon most would sufficate in the process of getting it on.
Later,
Steve
*Thanks to Ryan for annoying the shit out of both David Miler and Dick Warlock to get this info*

God that\'s a lot of words. My buddy just finished War and Peace as I read this thread. lol But seriously, I\'ve never seen a more interesting read on the boards, and I agree with you guys 100%. And give me an awesome replica anytime. Oh, and to FrightRags, the scalpal in H2 was purple  .........I think. Tongue

An Observation - WilliamAbuJannah - 03-10-2005

would a fiberglass Hockey Mask flex the way the pt 3 Hockey Mask flexed tight around his head like that? I\'ve only owned one fiberglass Hockey Mask and it was a Cropsy6 and it didn\'t flex at all really.

thanks for the comps on the boiler_glove F-R, alot of people seem to like that one. I still gotta give credit to VF for it, we talked about it a little bit one night and he basically gave me the kick in the a$$ to actually make one.

That\'s why he\'s got the #1. *cheesegrin*

An Observation - goaliehack - 03-10-2005

Yep it would. I have owned well layed fiberglass Hockey Mask and it flexed BETTER then my abs hockey masks. Like I said, Dick who owns it and David Miller are all the proof I need personaly. But yea, well made fiberglass and bend like CRAZY. Cropsy, DK, those are all thick old school fiberglass. Easy and cheap.

An Observation - Kdunaway18 - 03-10-2005

As long as it looks like what I see on film I\'m happy with it,I would rather have a well made replica Hockey Mask or razorglove over a cheap film prop any day.

Jesus, finally.. this is why i joined NIGHTOWL!!

I agree With everyone! Look at the Hero H1 mask, it was only spray painted, and adjusted in a few small ways.. but made a huge impact. NO ONE will get that mask 100 percent accurate... u can get it close.. but never accurate. Cause Lighting, and all kinds of movie magic makes us see a whole different look to it. I remember seeing a Screen used H6 mask, it looked like crap.. but on screen with all the lighting, it looked amazing. Im not real good with hockey masks or gloves so im using Myers. lol

Welp, as u see in H2 Dick Warlock completely changed the look of the Myers mask. Same thing with Richard Brooker with the f13th part 3 hockey. It was so tight against his head, it gave the part 3 a unique shape that is so hard to duplicate. Its the lighting and angles where u see a mask.

Man, i hate this hobby now

Dean did it  Travs pt 3 looks like that. But yeah I know what you mean. And yeah, conversation like this is why I joined these boards in the first place. I get depressed almost when all the boards have the same, \'look at this mask\' \'which Hockey Mask is better\' \'where do I get blanks\' \'where do I get straps\' \'I skinned my mom and made her a purse\'

ok, I made that last one up, but you know what I mean. I love talking horror, movies, and props. Sometimes I think the boards get bogged down with too much sillyness or even worse, people arguing and fighting over stupid sh\'t.

Besides, everyone knows the coveralls were a pale magenta purple.
