I am impressed.

What did you use for that base coat? Looks almost white...

How about the top yellow? I\'m really interested in hearing what colour choice you picked for that one.

You sanded it to get all the details, right? Did you also sand the entire surface before you added paint?

Did you use a dremel on the holes? They look very clean and well-done.

I love the yellow you used as the top coat. Looks great. Same for the blood. I\'d scratch it up a little more if it were me, but it\'s fantastic as-is. I was wondering when someone would start converting these things. You did it justice, that\'s for sure. Certainly not a wasted effort. And don\'t think I don\'t spot that "reference" you used for it. Best. Reference. Ever. =)

Almond

the top yellow was achieved by using my oils, and a nice soft cloth, (initially)
colours being raw umber with a hint of burnt umber, and then more ultramarine blue for the dirtier marks.

You sanded it to get all the details, right? Did you also sand the entire surface before you added paint?
No, and no. No sanding involved at all, the detail was all created with a cloth and brush, and the undercoat made sure the base almond adhered nicely.

Did you use a dremel on the holes? They look very clean and well-done.
Yep I dremeled my little heart heart religiously sticking to a good pic of Mr Warlocks lovely screen usd.

I didnt use a top coat, when the oils dry and cure they tend to stay on there.

Thanks for answering my questions. The almond works as the base colour, and you did a REALLY cool job with your inks! I thought the details were actually sanded into the mask. haha. Hurry up and snap-n-strap that sucker!

Yes, I still have my blank. It\'s still unconverted, and as long as I\'m the owner (forever), it will remain so. I simply don\'t have the balls (or money and materials...haha) to cut mine out of its sheet and do it up right. That said, I will be getting a few new ones soon that I might try trimming, drilling, and painting up by myself. I only hope mine will turn out as nice as yours!
