Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - vezolution - 01-17-2009 Lol...here's a mask I bought way back in the late 80's or early 90's. This was way before I even had the internet.I bought this at a drug store and drilled the extra holes in it. When I was done I thought it was the best lookingHockey Mask around. I actually used to have it strapped with straps from an old catchers mask. I keep it now just for sentimental value. My wife calls it the fast food mask because she thinks it looks like ketchup and mustard...lol. Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - ash - 01-17-2009 Ruste Dowg Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - The Death Curse - 01-17-2009 <!--quoteo(post=293139:date=Jan 17 2009, 06:29 AM:name=TheChosenOne)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(TheChosenOne @ Jan 17 2009, 06:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecHaha, that sounds like a fantastic mask. Too bad you don't have any pictures of it.<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndTo the contrary: It was one of the most horrible masks I've ever seen. I don't even know who really made it. The only reason I traded for it is that I was originally told it was a fiberglass GOHS part 6 by the seller...Being a 14-year-old, I believed the seller, and traded my first mask - a $240 value - for this "GOHS part 6 mask".When I got it, it was obviously a scam. The mask was thin as paper on the outer edges, 1 centimeter thick in the center of the nose, covered in airbubbles, had fiberglass sticking out everywhere on the inside, and had a weird film and smell. Everything about it was horrible. The seller kept acting like it was supposed to be that way and insisted it was a GOHS mask, and then I blocked him and began spreading the word on his (then pretty huge) business of scamming people. Turns out, he had scammed - or attempted to scam - half the people at the HMA already, most of them younger collectors like me - even Dan Drista had a couple bad run-ins with him. Keep in mind this was back in 2000... Since I didn't know anybody at the time, this guy got me good. When I resold the hockey mask, I think I got around $30 out of it from Dougie. That mistake was just one in a long string of misfortunes that "initiated me" into this community...The seller still posts here.....I'll never forget his name. He was a BIG scam artist back in the day, but for some reason, everybody's forgotten about his past and treats him as a big buddy now. Because of that, he is the bane of my existence.Cheers,Ryan Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - puckface - 01-17-2009 My first was a Horror Concepts part 3. I won it off of ebay back in 2002 or so. It was my pride and joy. Other than my LatexFx part 1 Fred that I also won off of ebay, it was the start of my indie mask collection. I dig the Part 7. Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - Crash - 01-18-2009 Man . . . my first hockey mask came from an ad out of the back of Fangoria way back in 1987. Over that summer, my buddy and me ordered 3 of them in total. We spent a grand total of $20 each for the masks. LOL Hey, that was tough for a kid to come by back then. The masks were some rubbery injection molded plastic that was obviously homemade. They were fairly big and looked pretty damn good for what they were. I remember the elastic straps were held on with thumbtacks. Hahaha! I still have one of them boxed up somewhere. The other ones changed to refelect the movies as they came out. So by the time JGTH came out, it was all to pieces. Here's the ad . . .Then around 1989, my buddy and I sat in my dads workshop with a stack of the plastic glow-in-the-dark 8-holes and converted them to movie style masks, part 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. We had one for each of us. I found photos of a couple of them, but I no longer have the masks. So here's one of the first hockey masks I EVER painted painted way back in 1989! Your Very First Friday The 13th-style Hockey Mask! - hatchetface - 01-18-2009 Here is my first combo ( Hockey mask and hood ), I bought it on ebay 2 years ago <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" />I still own it <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> |
