You are right- he's not a bad guy, just as I am not... but I get called an asshole a lot... case closed
I personally think he's just burnt out. Savini has done 6-8 very important films and maybe another handful of cult classics and after 30 years I think he is just tired of talking about the same old shit and wants a change of pace.I know qa guy who went to his SFX school for 2 years and he said he rarely saw Savini, and when he was there he was very distant so really, it's not just geeky basement-living horror dorks that gets the wrath of Savini, it's his own "students" and I use that vaguely because from what I hear he doesn't teach much or at all- I may be wrong.

If he doesn't want to talk about his classic horror movies then stop fucking doing HORROR cons. There are literally tons of stars and non-stars who are cordial, gracious and thankful for fans like us. Without paying fans he would be a total nobody.....period...........................Larry

He's never denied that he never wanted to do Part 4. He always stated that he only did it because a) he wanted to kill Jason off once and for all and <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" /> he quoted them an enormous amount to do SFX and they counter-offered less, but still more than he should have been paid.I don't think there's anything wrong with that, it's a job and may the best offer win. Not everybody loves their job and he owes nothing to the fans because it's a job... he has never sugar coated the fact that he does not like Jason as a killer. Hell, on The Burning BTS featurette he makes that very clear.He and Ted White probably got along well during the shooting of Part 4, lol.

Okay, on the $ chi-ching business side he owes nothing. I was saying that with a bit of facetiousness. He does not have to do conventions, but he does because he is asked and PAID for attending. A lot of the people who do movies see it as a business- a job. It's like someone who has a job at Wal-Mart not feeling like they owe anything to the customers because they are so detached from what they do and so-be-it. If he has that frame of mind, then it will end up hurting him-- as it had done.You are right, he should not be doing conventions because he never seems to be having a good time at them. However, maybe he needs the money and he sees it as a bad 9 to 5 job? I don't know... to me it just seems like Savini is like a grumpy co-worker that has been working for 50 years and has 5 years until retirement and bitches about not wanting to work all day...I;m not defending him, I think he's a douche, I just can see how he feels. I have been doing the same job for 1 years (body art) and 75% of my clientele are people that I despise... and ya know... I can understand. He seems to hate the type of people his fans are, well unless they have boobs or a fat wallet with a check made out to him.
