I actually like it alot. I think it's creepy as hell and it's probably much more detailed on the screen.

Its fine that its real, but I don't find it disturbing, I feel sorry for burn victims, I don't want to feel sorry for Freddy, if that is the final look I just don't find it scary, menacing, or disturbing, maybe I am desensitized to it, just my opinion.

But I think that once Jackie Earle Haley's talents bring it to life... I'll bet we'll feel quite differently. Everything JEH has done has been extremely impressive. I don't think we should expect anything less with him as Freddy.

Personally I don't understand the idea behind going for realism when the character is someone who came back from the dead to invade people's dreams.

He was going to have exposed skull parts, blisters with puss coming out of them and gums and teeth visible through holes in his cheeks. But because of budget problems(I think) they ended up with what we saw in the movie.

I also don't have as much faith as you, because I have not been a fan of anything I have seen up to this point. I hope I am proven wrong, because for the most part I have not liked what they have done to my favorite horror franchises in the last few years.
