Oh My God! (more Pics On Pages 2 And 3!) - Mario - 04-05-2010

Hi guys, thanks for your kind words <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> Great to see you like the Black Se7en !! There are still masks left, so if you are interested, get in contact with me at info@fridaythe13thprops.de and I will forward you all information, so you can decide if you want to obtain your mask. I sent out the first bunch of 8 masks last week and it seems they are ariving one by one. I'm already working on the next bunch that will be sent out to their owners pretty soon. I'm doing 8 per session that takes around two weeks from casting (not vacuum forming) to paint finish.Secure you a Black Se7en made in the next session! All my best, and happy you like the product.Mario

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, everyone! This mask is the most accurate Jason hockey mask replica ever produced. I can't stress that fact enough for all of you to realize how amazing this project is...To answer some questions on how this mask was made (assuming it's all right with Mario), here are a few details:1.) These masks are *NOT* vacuformed plastic of any kind. They are made from a two-part plastic resin which is poured directly into a silicone mold made directly from the surface of Mario's screen-used, hero Part 7 mask. That means that each casting retains 99.99% of all the detail, shape, size, vent hole placement, and eye shape of the original mask in Mario's collection. Being that this mask was probably the only one made for the film to feature this exact damage and severe warpage to the plastic, the Black Se7en is the ONLY accurate "hero Part 7 hockey mask replica" ever made. Period.2.) Mario does all the paint work on these masks. He paints them with the screen-used hero mask sitting just inches from each blank, from what I understand...3.) For price information, contact Mario personally. It may differ depending on where you live in the world (IE: shipping charges).4.) The resin used for this mask is not bone-stiff like, say, Smooth-Cast 300...It's very flexible - probably about the same as vacuformed styrene plastic of the same thickness. It also has an almost entirely uniform casting thickness, save for the little bunches of material in back. It is perfectly wearable, though I would not advise it for fear of chipping the paint. In a while, I'm going to take more pictures of this mask sitting on my SSN New Blood latex mask...Holy !@#$%, I can't WAIT for that! Thanks again and cheers,Ryan

I love the "pit/pockmark" detail in the side of the mask. The mask looks screen used.

I'm using "Smooth-On" as the basic material but altered it a special way. This is how it is used at Stan Winston Studios for example. Professional stuff that! The rest of the making process is a secret but know that it is really time and work intensive. The prototype I posted in another thread was made differently and looks by far notso great in detail and shape.Mario

Also, for the mold I used the best quality silicone available and prepare it between each pull. This ensures that no details getting lost over the time of the 50 mask run. It will stay in form exactly like on day one, however I will destroy the mold as soon as the last of the 50 left it.Mario

Thanks for all the clarification, Mario...I need to ask you about the properties of this plastic resin, as well! It feels very much like a vacuformed mask when held in your hands! Here are some more pictures of the mask on top of my SSN "New Blood" latex mask...These are not photoshopped at all. It ACTUALLY looks like this in person:Another pic below...Cheers,Ryan
