I dunno. I thought there was a book that was supposed to focus on the props of F13. May be Crystal Lake Memories for all I know. I\'ll go look for it if I can ever travel the many, many miles to a good book store.

This was the Copy I owned awhile back, in fact it looks like one of the first pictures you posted was one of mine I took a year or so ago...It indeed a great piece too own and really is somthing you can just stare at for hours...I was stupid enough to cut it down a bit for shipping (which I see has been cut down even more since I did that) I actually still own the Orginal sides to that piece... I think I may post a pic of them. Ryan email me when you get the chance... or If I catch you on aim I\'ll get in touch with ya...

When I first recieved it the first thing I recalled was how much bigger it was compared to a pt 6 I own and the best best best thing about this piece I think Is if you look close you can see rivit dents and strap dents where they were removed on the hero to create this thing.... Once again GREAT score

Quote:Let me begin by saying thanks to Jason Hanks once again, for giving me the opportunity to own one of the only direct, unaltered Part 3 recasts in existence. It has been a pleasure dealing with you, and I hope to again in the future.

Now, on to the mask itself. I\'m sure that ALL of you have seen this before, and at some point, wondered what it truly was.....Part 6 production mask?........Part 3 production mask?........There seem to be many stories and viewpoints as to the origins of this elusive white blank.

The Part 4 poster mask is what got me into this hobby. I stared at the cover of the VHS Final Chapter tape for years thinking, \"Man...That thing\'s creepy. I WANT IT.\" It\'s really the only thing - besides a Part 6 screen mask - that I\'ve truly wanted in my collection. High end replicas soon started not working for me, as I could see too many faults in even the BEST copies. In the last two years, I\'ve become really more interested in finding the real deal than just replicas, so I stopped purchasing and just sat back and watched.

I tried to learn as much info on the early screen masks as I possibly can, and through examining screen caps, I found out that there were only 2 masks used for Part 3. I also discovered that these same two masks were reused for Part 4, and the Part 3 hero mask was used as the Final Chapter poster mask and the \"exploding mask\" at the beginning of the film. I discovered that the part 4 movie mask was reused AGAIN in part 5, and that Dick Warlock had kept it after production. I was astounded at the movie history that these things have under their belts...Dick\'s Part 3 stunt mask had been used in THREE of the Friday films, and the Part 3 hero had been used in two. To me, these 2 masks are a couple of the most iconic items in all of horror. I had to find out where the other mask resides.

Through some other sources, I discovered that Tom Savini originally kept the Part 3 hero after Part 4 was a wrap. He sold it back in the late 80s/early 90s to a private collector, who later on sold it to another collector in the mid 90s. This thing has had around 2 or 3 owners since then, and I don\'t know much about the current whereabouts of it. One of the earliest owners I\'ve heard of, is a guy named Ken. This Ken guy, I discovered, worked with Magical Media Industries back in the 80s to create the Part 7 hockey mask blanks. These Part 7 blanks were created by recasting Ken\'s Part 3 hero mask...Hear that, guys? If this is all true, that means all of your NIGHTOWL part 7 masks are third generation Part 3 recasts. Wink

I also found out that the INFAMOUS white recast that\'s been floating around these forums for about 3 years now was the first of two white test pulls (if not the ONLY white test pull...) that Ken made from his Part 3 mask back in the 80s. It was never cut, and went into storage for many years until a just a few years ago, when it was sold on ebay for a pretty nice price to a member of this community. No one was really sure what it was back then....And none of the previous couple of owners have really been sure what it was, either. All they knew was that this thing is very valuable. They never knew just how right they were!

In short, this mask is a direct, untampered recast of the Part 3 Hero/Part 4 Poster/Part 4 Intro mask. This is the mask that got me into this hobby in the first place, and now I own THE perfect replica of it. I think it\'s safe to say that I am done collecting hockey masks unless someone gets Mr. Warlock to recast his Part 4....and we all know how likely THAT is. =P

Here are some comparison pictures that I\'ve made to show just how accurate this mask is in every way to the original. Enjoy! =)

The New Score To Trump All My Previous Scores. - myers-san - 07-03-2005

Yep them be the sides that I COULD HAVE HAD!...LOL...as long as the Hockey Mask itself stays intact it will be a great keepsake...also yes i trimmed it to look at least even on all sides and did not want to keep the shape it WAS cut in and that is true...It is a very nice peice and Ryan Deserves it.

[post=\"94284\"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

I know that\'s a joke, but...

It\'s not ANY screen used mask...It\'s THE first screen used mask ever created. This mask\'s parent helped spawn an entire plethora of films, both of its respective series and knock-offs. My mask\'s parent was used in the Part 4 Poster, and has become an easily recollected image for most of us on this board - burned into our memories. A perfect replica of one of the top most recognizable horror icons in existence. That\'s a level that you can\'t reach with Myers or bubba. Freddy masks ARE out there, if you know the right people, but they\'re just not really available to small-time collectors like myself. Even if they were, you couldn\'t really recast a Freddy mask and expect similar mind-blowing results, as it would be made of foam latex, and one of many various stages of brittle. These hockey masks were built to last. ABS plastic and fiberglass structures assure their existence for years to come. That is the reason that we can all collect these wonderful (or horrible, even) copies of them today.

Furthermore, this mask has sharper features than any hockey mask I\'ve ever owned or seen. I own a NIGHTOWL part 5 that\'s apparently pulled from a Cropsy mold, and although quite nice in its own right, when compared, this blank makes it look soft as hell. There are a lot of very prominent features on this blank that are barely even existent on ...well,...EVERYTHING else.

Only a collector or obsessed maniac would really be concerned with these slight differences, though.

To anyone else it\'s a misshapen, old piece of plastic.
