The new generation that loves VS, and the texas chainsaw massacre remakes... They didnt experience the magic feeling you feel when you first watch them.Why do you think i love part 6 so much? When I first saw it it was the coolest thing. nostalgia does make everything better. It is such a good feeling though. Those expecting to feel nostalgia, and feel right back in the 80's when they see the remake, they will be dissapointed, but for me I am just happy to see Jason again. I have never seen the Jason i wanted to in theaters.... Stupid VS.I grew up watching these movies, to me they are my childhood films, and they continue to hold nostalgia. I will never forget the first time I saw Jason in a movie, and not the stereotyped look I had come to know from crapy mass produced items... That was my most memorable halloween. It was the first time I saw Jason, freddy, or Myers in a movie, and i feel such a nostalgia every time i see each scene of them. Part 4 f13, n1 NOES, and H5 car scene mask (the brute). Those are some of my most memorable moments.

i did not see a single person say anything about movie magic. We pointed out what these movies really are at their core.....fun, popcorn, T&A, cheesy horror flicks. They were made for one reason and one reason only....as a cash cow for Paramount to make their "real" films. I love the series as much if not more than anyone else here. I have the ability to see them for what they are. I am not gonna nitpick over how he looks, how he is dressed, why he does this, that, or the other. I am just very, very grateful that Mr. Voorhees will once again be gracing the big screen.take care,Tommy

Very well said.....the F13th movies were make quick and cheap as fun, forgettable slashers. Perhaps thats most of the charm......just be thankful we have Jason on the screen again.

Which is exactly why I don't understand why more F13th fans and the like didn't embrace HATCHET more.....cheesy, bad acting, boobies, gore and a cool villain.....the closest IMHO to an actual 80's slasher...................Larry

Marcus Nispal is a very atmospheric director, key elements in his film. Although I didn't like his remake of 'Massacre' its feel was very slick, unlike the original, classic. I'm going into this movie expecting something very different than what I'm used to. Let's all go in that same way. No thats exactly why they didnt.People dont look for that in new movies. I didnt see hatchet yet, though everything i have heard about it points to classic. And everything classic about it people have complained, so in a way some of you r right, why should this one be classic just for fans to say how bad it was. If this was an exact copy of one of the older ones (well i for one would love that) but i have a feeling many would complain their asses off about it
