Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - ReellyScary - 12-13-2008 <!--quoteo<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecYou pretty much went that extra length to tell everyone you haven't seen any of the remakes of said films, which leads me to believe you were in the front of the line for all of them on opening day.<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndI can assure you Sir....I wasn't. Do not call me a liar. Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - onefastbird95 - 12-13-2008 There is a reason I call him "Robbed Zombie" and it has to do with how he robbed true Halloween fans with that shit show of a remake he put out... asshole laughed his way all the way to the bank. If someone is stupid enough to give him another shot at a payday using the Halloween franchise as a cruch, then they will have to deal with the outcome when it is an epic fail. Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - Clint - 12-15-2008 I am tired of all this remake bashing, like the Last 45 Halloween movies with Tyra Banks and Busta and rune cults in robes and big Mikes neice didn't ruin that franchise don't just blame Rob Zombie. The TCM remake was everything the original TCM wasn't , clean and polished but it was good. I'm on the fence for the Friday the 13th remake because honestly I only liked the original and Jason X because it was one of the best comedys ever made. The rest were just garbage like all the Nightmare movies after part 2, but I can enjoy them. One of the best horror movies ever made was a remake/rewhatever THE THING. Lets be honest guys if they weren't remaking movies what would we have to talk about. Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - BRASFIELD32 - 12-15-2008 I am glad to hear hes doing another one.I loved the Halloween remake.I am a true fan of horror movies ,not many I have not seen. You take the bad with the good.Everyone will not always like everything.Rob puts a different feel to movies like house of 1000 corpses and devils rejects. They both have a crazy hillbilly feel to them.I like this in his movies. This is what makes his movies scary, because there are crazy nutty hillbillys that could possibly do the things he shows in his films.I will watch any remake of any horror movie. Not all will be good, but some will.Hope this one turns out good...... The hillbilly F#@k fest aspect. RZ IS THE MAN !!<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndHe was being SARCASTIC! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/teehee.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":teehee:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"teehee.gif\" /> Sure, I liked Zombie's Ho1000C and Devils Rejects, but his "hillbilly f#@k fest" doesn't belong in the Halloween series. The one problem I have with remakes is them "bringing scary back to the series" inevitable ends with them simply making him taller, stronger, and more sinister looking, when what people loved about the originals is that the killer just looks like some guy, whether it be a normal human, or a deforemed face/head.<!--quoteo(post=285935:date=Dec 1 2008, 09:01 PM:name=puckface)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(puckface @ Dec 1 2008, 09:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
<div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecOddly enough, the TCM remake had hardly any cussing, no nudity, and surprisingly, a minimal amount of gore. Being the reason it's one of my favorite remakes.<!--QuoteEnd
<!--QuoteEEndExactly what Scott said, the TCM remake was pretty damn good. Very little cussing, no nudity/sex, little blood, yet still great FX. Definetly worth checking out, as TCM 2-4 were terrible. I can't say the same for TCM Beginning, it was just far too repetetive...As for the F13th remake, it's lookin pretty good so far. Not as good as 1-6, but good.I didn't LOVE the Halloween remake, he did exactly what I described above, with more guts, and girls.... It wasn't terrible if you compare it to Halloween 4-8. Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - The Death Curse - 12-15-2008 All this remake crap needs to flush itself right back into the sewers it came from, but not because they simply "are remakes." It's because they're usually very BAD films by people who DON'T know what they're doing presented under popular/cult classic titles only to make more money, especially in the case of Zombieween.I can't believe someone here is trying to support this silly nonsense by noting that "Lets be honest guys if they weren't remaking movies what would we have to talk about. ".......WHAT???????????!!!!! News flash: Really good films or decent sequels *also* give us something to talk about, and for much longer periods of time with WAY less frustration and disappointment from the older, more nostalgic fanbase. Sure, most of us would love some innovative and new ideas instead of rehashes of old designs, characters, storylines, etc....I'm certainly not arguing that point, because it has definitely worked in the past as a few people have already mentioned. But there is a limit, and I draw the line at what RZ did to the "Halloween" title. Leave that well-rooted slasher series alone, because it's been going extremely strong since H20! Not to mention the original series, even by the time H:R was released, had a TON of different directions in which to take the story with Michael Myers' character. Instead, they chose the quick and easy route: Wipe the slate clean and turn Myers into a "normal psychotic killer personality" with a bad childhood and white trash upbringing. To bastardize a phrase, "If it ain't broke, then STOP BREAKING IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! PLEASE!"Besides, this obviously isn't a community built upon the "newest, hottest thing in town".....We like our classic characters the same as they have always been, IE: true to form. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the core population of this message board - fans, collectors, and mask-makers alike - are mostly stuck on horror films that came out pre-1995. And I bet most of those people - like myself - constantly wish that newer horror films could display even half the originality, feeling, and fun factor of the old classics, but feel constantly let down. Why? Because that old stuff was important. It plowed the field. Essentially, we're all spoiled to great films from an era with well-designed (and truly scary) monsters/killers. We don't want to sympathize with them or their murders. We don't want them to be white trash, poor, or have a "feasible" psychotic past. We don't want them to have almost honorable intentions or teach people a lesson we can all learn from...That crap is boring. BORING.In fact, I have to ask...Exactly what was "wrong" with the way the original series for most other slashers were going? Just because you got a horror-comedy or an awful film every now and then, does NOT mean that an entire series was forever without hope. Just look at the almost astronomically impossible transition from "Jason Lives" to "The New Blood"....John Buechler completely revived that unnerving horror aspect in a slasher series that had already become what is essentially dark comedy and cheese for two consecutive films beforehand. God, don't even get me started on that. Seriously, what is wrong with everyone? Is it just our generation that has lost the will to determine a fine film from a useless money hog? What is the deal here?Cheers,Ryan Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - adam - 12-15-2008 I don't understand, The_Death_Curse. I thought Rob did a pretty neat job on Halloween. I still haven't seen the first one, but I'm sure the remake wasn't that much worse than the original, right? Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - Seph - 12-15-2008 Adam you havent seen the original? dude you need to go rent it or buy it or borrow it from someone, its got a way darker and more stalkerish tone man...obviously its an old film but there's no denying that its a great horror film. The Death CurseI agree with some of your points but I actually liked the TCM remake, sure it kinda got a little boring here and there but i think the pay off towards the end was cool and there simply was no way that they could have made a carbon copy of the original with the same feel and everything and they knew that so they chose a different path. Leatherface was simply badass like he should be imo and the sheriff was awesome too.Rz's Halloween on the other hand was good at certain points but it too got kind of boring for some reason. Rz chose to show michael a lot and although i did like some of the scenes when he was a little kid...Rz really messed up when Michael was an adult, as soon as he got the captain kirk inspired mask and put it on...the film really went south for me, michael wasn't scary because we got to know him as a kid and actually sympathized with him...Halloween 2 could be interesting, they still have a chance not to show him so much and since we already watched him as a little kid, he starts off as an adult so if they make him more of a phantom like he was in the original...then they could have a great movie...but with Rz possibly being back on board for h2 and them rushing him to write the script...the movie could turn out horrible...I thought his remake he made could have been better but it could have been worse as well and compared to Resurrection it's far superior. The remake of Friday the 13th is what im really looking forward to, it looks really well done so far and I hope they have learned from other remakes not to rush the story...im curious to see how long his mother and young jason are shown in the film, the actor they got for the little kid looks almost exactly how i would picture jason as a kid, he even has a slanted eye on one side...Jason could be back in a big way imoAs far as sex and girls in these movies go, i dont know why any one on here that is straight would bitch about seeing girls nude!? what is wrong with you guys!? Bring on the sex, the nudity, the violence, some gore (not too much gore) as long as the story is awesome and the killer is scary like they should be...anyone agree with me? Rob Zombie Returns To Haddonfield For Halloween 2 - adam - 12-15-2008 I was being completely sarcastic. |
