well, i look at it like this, I have two LCD HD tv's that i paid way too much for to be honest. Since I paid that much for them, then i want to get the most out of them when possible. Like I said before, I am only replacing select titles on blu ray. Considering I have around 1500 dvds at last count, there is no way i will replace them all, especially since, like many others have stated, most of them will never make it to blu ray....take care,Tommy

DVD's will still be made for a few more years, look at VHS when DVD came out. I'll probably make the switch a long time from now. I see no rush at all.

I guess you either love it or hate it lol. Blu-ray will be here for awhile but just like dvd something better will come but not for a long time.BTW Who here is ready for TDK on Blu-ray tuesday?? This should be one of the best Blu-rays of the year.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThe Dark Knight will definately be a Blu-ray must. Wasn't it filmed with an IMAX camera... not too knowledgable about that, but I imagine the picture/sound quality will be amazing. I'm picking up a copy for my dad for Christmas and we'll all watch it together when I travel down to visit him over the holidays.

The movements of the people on the movie, visually somehow it looks different. More real or damn, I don't even know how to explain it. And oh yeah, you can see every imperfection on the actors lol, every mole, freckle and zit on them!

It takes away from the "movie" vibe which is what I want when I watch it. Its weird to dog on something because of how GOOD it is, but its almost so clear its as though Im watching a live perfomance or play, and that makes it kind of weird for me.I may just get one of those up-converters that make your dvds look better.

LCDs tend to make the picture look like that, That is why I like Plasmas. My dad has a DLP and it is even better for watching movies on.

Ive heard both sides a lot. Some tell me LCDs are better picture, some say Plasmas have better pictures because they are so clear and bright. But I have noticed that most LCDs pixelate a lot, but with the price of Plasmas, I can deal with a little pixelation here and there.
