too bad i didnt see this topic sooner but i guess travasall has already covered the bulk of it the original cant be beaten and i rented the ed gien dvd along time ago it was pretty informative i liked it but i defenitely have to go with the dark, gritty, 1974 version

The one you speak of was done by ROTTEN CHILD STUDIOS it was called ED GEIN.

"DERANGED" is a good flick if yall want to see the REAL ED GEIN inspired movie, kind of hard to find, but the character is named EZRA COBB, but it is very close to Gein, much better than the "ED GEIN" movie.

A good book to check out is DEVIANT by Harold Schechter
or THE A to Z ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SERIAL KILLERS same author
or THE SERIAL KILLER FILES same author
all of these have blurbs on Gein, and then you will find some material on people that make him look tame. Like the Scottish cannibal SAWNEY BEANE who Wes Craven loosely based "THE HILLS HAVE EYES".
