The New, New Nightmare Glove - Crash - 03-02-2010
Kickass! That looks absolutely beautiful. And the movability in the video seems smooth and very comfortable.I can understand the "heartbreak" of spending so much time, work and money on this project only to find out versions from the movie mold will supposedly be available one day. You should feel proud of your results though and know that it was all made possible by your very own efforts. From all the research and development to working with the sculptor, etc., you've produced a phenomenal, high-end replica. I understand the want to have something straight from the original source, but I'd find it far more satisfying and rewarding to know you put forth all your resources and efforts into this piece. There are people out there who will totally appreciate this, so I wouldn't worry about not making any sales if you plan to offer any to collectors. I'm sure we've all read comments like "why would anyone want a fan-made replica when they can have one from the real deal". This is a prime example to answer that question. The physical and financial work you've put into this project speaks for itself. Big kudos to the sculptor as well. You should both be proud.

I don't mean to sound cheap but since one of these isn't a high priority I hope these aren't costing too much. I know I've seen a real nice one from some glove maker and it was about $600+ which is absolutely outrageous just for a hand.

I meant another glove makers New Nightmare glove, but I see your point...kinda. Those hands are about the same price as a mask, which I don't understand. They are much smaller than masks so why are they nearly the same in price?

Trust me. They do seem smaller than the typical mask, but they require about as much silicone. Not quite AS much, but near it. It's certainly not a small amount. And like I said before, silicon is pretty pricey. I agree that gloves should somewhat cheaper than a mask, but I suppose the prices are just set to what people are willing to pay. (and being apart of the haunt biz, I can say first hand that people will pay those prices and THEN some, lol)
