There has never been any mention of them knowing that. Maybe they did and we just skipped over that part in class but that's something I would have remembered going over. Anyway, we're not going to know until the day hits.-Joseph

ehh, the whole thing is just gonna be a huge magnetic pole shift. its happened before and it'll happen again. a completely natural cycle that the earth goes through every 26,000 years. just make sure that you switch your battery cables in your car around or else it wont start.

It's just what I've read and heard myself, without any kind of full on studying or schooling like in your case <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

I wonder how many stupid people will be out in the streets rioting and looting on this date, or if they're all smart enough to know this is a load of BS.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipSheeps. Some say the end is near. Some say we'll see armageddon soon.I certainly hope we will.I sure could use a vacation from thisStupid Sheep, silly Sheep, stupid Sheep. One great big festering neon distraction,I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied. Learn to swim.'cause I'm praying for rainAnd I'm praying for tidal wavesI wanna see the ground give way.I wanna watch it all go down.Mom please flush it all away.I wanna see it go right in and down.I wanna watch it go right in.Watch you flush it all away.

You're not gonna die unless you get trampled at Walmart whilst doing some late Christmas shopping. If the Maya couldn't predict their own demise, I have a feeling they may be way off with this gem of a premonition Wink .

I was watching the news the other day and they were discussing this topic, and cut to a Mayan indian sitting there at a picnic table, wearing a button down shirt and jeans. The on-scene reporter says "Well, I'm here with an actual Mayan descendant, and I have to ask you.. The fact that the Mayan calendar ends on this date is beleived by many to indicate that the mayans believed this would be the day that the world ends. Do you agree with this view?"mayan, "No.. it is just a calendar."Interviewer, "oh.. so no end of the world?"mayan, "All things end. The world will end one day, but not when a calendar tells it to. This is not the end of the world, just the end of this calendar."--There's been a lot of info that came out regarding the Mayan knowledge of astronomy, and it's been suggested that the Mayans had somehow determined when all the planets would line up, and therefore ended this calendar at that time, so that the new calandar would start "fresh".Personally, I think it should be noted that MY calendar runs out at the end of each year with no MAJOR calamity, and a New Years celebration. Perhaps this will be no different?

well, some people also thought that the end of the world would be in the year <b>2000</b> (9 years ago) <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":whistling:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"whistling.gif\" />
