I have no plans on trying to make it better then anyone, just the best I can do, if she turns out cool then great if not, that is ok, I will just see how it goes & hope for the best, thank you again for all the feedback & help.

Later,

Bob.

Rather than HOPE for the best..why not do your best to make it as accurate as possible???

Do or do not..there is no try!

Dearly Beheaded 2.0 In The Works - Mask Murderers - 07-06-2005

Try is all I can do bro, the best has already been done when the film was made, you can never be the best, there is always someone better at anything you do, sure I can work & work on this piece make it my best & then a month later Joe Blow will make a better one, that is how it is, I will do MY best & see how the final outcome is, I really am not to concerned about it though, not a very enjoyable piece to do to be honest, I do hope it turns out well though with all of my work I take pride so I will not make a crappy mama. LOL

K, here\'s a few things that should be fixed on her.
Overall, the piece is too bulky. The brow is way too pronounced, the nose is too blocky or \'manly\', the chin is too big, the ears are too thick and the mouth is too large and bulky. The eyes are also a bit to high. I did the same damn thing on TDC, didnt correct it and now I kick myself even though I knew it when I sculpted it, just too stubborn to fix it when I had the chance. Also, the detail you have added looks a bit too uniform and should have more of a natural flow to it. All the features need to be toned down. You can follow the comments "she looked manly, great job" and settle for the way it is but the fact is, is that she didnt look manly. Women have much softer features and so should this piece. A major flaw and something that will bite you in the ass is that you started the detail before the sculpture was properly blocked out. Another would be the armature you\'re sculpting on, you\'re not going to be able to dig in like you should. Like I mentioned earlier, a female piece doesnt match up with your style of sculpting. Sure, you can pull it off but it\'s going to take patience. Like I said, you can settle with the way it is and sell a few or you can dive back in it and sell a ton. I have tried to offer my help to you publicly and in private PM in the past but you can take this as me being an asshole or trying to help. But honestly, I am in fact trying to help. You did ask for a critique. I wish people would have been that honest with me on past pieces.

Bob...your idea of try is to continue sculpting for a couple weeks then when you think it\'s done that\'s it..it gets molded before anymore imput

Why not do what other artists do and take a few months and make it as perfect as you can?

Dearly Beheaded 2.0 In The Works - Mask Murderers - 07-06-2005

That\'s cool I appreciate the comments, I have been working on her, the detail you see is a fast stamp, nothing major already raked it down, I do this alot, but to be honest she does not look like a woman really in the film either, the pics I have does not look really like a woman either, screen caps I had from when I did my first one that I printed out. I do take advice, you said try a certain technique on Fred & I did today, the PM you sent me, I tried it on a real messed up pull & it worked pretty darn good, do not think I don\'t take advice I do.

Thanks,

Bob.

Dan I am taking input, I do take time but I am not other artists I am only me man, just me, I took 3 months to do Demented & that is as good as I could get, new pics are on the site of him as well. Guys I just needed a little input not why can you not be like or work like, I am just an artist that is it, here to make masks that some may like & some may hate, you can not please everyone. Hope you understand where I am coming from, it has been 2 years now for me & to sculpture a piece out of WED in 10 hours is just the way I work, I sold 3 pieces to a new company & he was darn happy with them & he will be producing them soon, I rarely get put down the way I use to & I just want to be cool with you guys & get some input, that is all!.

Bob.

Why don\'t you roll with things Bob? This is a good looking piece with potential, yet you take any advise/critique as a negative. Then, for some reason you seem to have to make posts proving yourself in some way. I just don\'t get it, try and make the piece better given the posts and that will be just as good as proving them wrong. And man, the way you look at the world is SHIT! "someones better then me, why try if I am going to get beat" Fuck man, thats sad....

Dearly Beheaded 2.0 In The Works - null1 - 07-06-2005

Bob, I\'m going to try my best to be tactful here but why is it that when you post and ask for comments, suggestions and critiques you always turn up your nose? You always come off like "yeah, well this is how I do it". You were shown the pic of the other piece so you could get some insipration from it, not to copy it or be like the original artist. "for me & to sculpture a piece out of WED in 10 hours is just the way I work", then why even ask? Just do what you do and show the finished product. Your original post was, and I quote "so hit me hard guys, it is ok"....

Go figure. It\'s always the same with you Bob...

And for those of you that honestly think Betsy Palmer looks like a man, Rolleyes
She may not be the most fem looking woman but guys, she\'s far from a man.
