Should I Do This? - mpetrie - 11-20-2008 LOL... you guys make me laugh.Adam.. if you don't like threads like this... I find it funny that you took the time to read the postings and publish a novel of your own in it that included insults to the thread starter. If you don't like these threads.. don't read or participate in them.My main "beef" that I was having was people trying to devalue the piece way below what I personally would charge for it if I were the artist and also saying that the likeness isn't that great and could possibly pass for some complete stranger in Joker makeup. What inaccuracies do you see in Bob's piece? Should I Do This? - adam - 11-20-2008 Just because I say I'm not a fan of these threads doesn't mean I just tuck tail and run. The entire point of my post was that silicone is a massive hype, you're nuts if you pay that much money for a Joker bust, and why in the WORLD does it cross people's minds to ask should I do this or that for THEIR OWN collection. When it comes down to it, the individual considering buying the piece is the one that has to live with it, not any of the others. Also, so far, you're the only guy in this thread that would truly consider paying $5000 for it. Sure everybody says it looks good, but I doubt anyone else here would even begin to fund that. And if my novel was too... 'novelly' for you.. why did you read it?Rest assured, however, I'm done in this thread. Should I Do This? - hummie12 - 11-20-2008 just relax guys. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Should I Do This? - mpetrie - 11-20-2008 <!--quoteo(post=284793:date=Nov 20 2008, 03:33 PM:name=adam)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(adam @ Nov 20 2008, 03:33 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=284793\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecJust because I say I'm not a fan of these threads doesn't mean I just tuck tail and run. 'novelly' for you.. why did you read it?Rest assured, however, I'm done in this thread.<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndThe whole point of this thread was to see if other collectors would consider selling the items that I had... i.e. Butterfingers Mask, Numero Uno glove, Part 4 Ken Hastings, DMC Part 1 Sweater, etc for a Joker bust. I never even mentioned the price until someone asked because I wasn't talking about if the price was worth it... I was asking specifically if others would give up items like the ones I have for a bust like that, regardless of the price. And I never said I would personally pay $5,000 for that bust. I just said that's how much he asks for it with the clothes. I might just have an arrangement to somehow get it for cheaper... but again.. the price wasn't the issue at the start of this thread until you guys made it such an issue. I was telling people what items I had in my collection and was just gathering public opinion about if I should let them go or not for this bust. But I guess it got off topic when people started talking about how much the initial asking price is and assumed that is the amount I was going to pay for it. For all you know I was going to do him a favor or something with work of my own to bring the price down in addition to having to sell my other items. Oh.. and I read your post because it was posted in my thread. I tend to read what people write in topics that I start... I know.. I'm weird like that. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":whistling:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"whistling.gif\" /> Should I Do This? - FreddysNightmare - 11-20-2008 Oh dear.... yawn. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> This thread is kinda sucky now. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> Should I Do This? - mpetrie - 11-20-2008 <!--quoteo(post=284803:date=Nov 20 2008, 03:57 PM:name=FreddysNightmare)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(FreddysNightmare @ Nov 20 2008, 03:57 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=284803\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecOh dear.... yawn. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /> This thread is kinda sucky now. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"rolleyes.gif\" /><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndNo kidding... here.. let's make it interesting. Some are saying it's inaccurate. Let's talk about why. Here are two photos to compare. I wish I had an exact same angle for both photos but we'll have to make do.
