I work in NYC as a helper to an Operating Engineer. Since I'm working the graveyard shift (12AM-8AM), I do preventative maintenance on all the Air Handlers ,DX units, Chillers, and Absorbers in the building. We change filters, belts and repair the units if anything is wrong with them. We're responsible for building start-up and making sure the building is at set point (temp. wise) at a certain time for the bitchy tenants. I already have my Refrigerant Machine Operators License and will eventually become an Engineer. It's basically commercial refrigeration. On a side note, the tenants in the building is AIG. I work at there Headquarters and today was most definitely interesting with Michael Moore outside the building filming his new movie. Leaving work I had a camera shoved in my face and was asked "How I felt working for AIG."
