What Do You Guys Think About This - Scottie - 04-30-2009

It's amazing to me how someone can take such a great character, and completely destroy him along w/ the whole story, and then be hailed as a genius. No real Halloween fan(as he claims to be, which can be proven false just by listening to his observations about the originals) could do this to the series. I mean honestly, how can you make a film worse than Halloween: Resurrection? And now he's looking to double up? This look isn't scary at all; it's just sad. Would it be shocking if this guy was in your house at night? Of course. But it would also be shocking if someone dressed up like the Easter Bunny came hopping into your room. Now he's completely stripped the shape of everything Halloween. Rob can't scare you w/ his writing or directing(because he has no actual talent in film), so he has to bludgeon you w/ simple-minded shock value grabs, bad language and freak-shows. That is not Halloween. I'll take the "force of nature" Michael Myers that John Carpenter so masterfully wrote and directed, over this human, modernized garbage hobo any day. And I will add as a side note, that the scariest Michael Myers of all-time in my opinion was Dick Warlock, who just happens to be the shortest Myers as well at 5'9". "He was my patient for fifteen years. He became an obsession with me until I realized there neither reason nor conscious or anything about him that was... even remotely human. An hour ago I stood up and fired six shots into him and he just got up and walked away. I am talking about the real possibility that he is still out there!" - Dr. Sam Loomis, Halloween II (1981) -s

Well said brotha Scottie, well said. Rob has not one single, solitary iota of what the original H A L L O W E E N was about or stood for. I don't wanna hear any crap arguments that "he's doing his own thing".....bottom line is that the mystery and characterizations were the backbones of Carpenter's masterpiece. Something that no 8 foot Bigfoot Myers and tons of cursing will ever change................................Larry
