I\'m trying to get a 90x90px animated (black and white) gif down to 50kb. Its at like 570kb now. Anyone have any tips? I cut it from an avi and reduced it to 12fps, but nothing seems to help.

Thanks,
Jeff

That should be fairly easy to do considering the size. Did you try opening it in ImageReady (that comes with Photoshop) and saving it for the web? You should be able to compress the gif images by limiting enough colors to shrink it\'s size but still retain the quality. Alternatively, you can open it in Flash and publish it at different compression rates...that may help too.

140kb is as low as it will go without looking messy. oh well, I like it.

Wow, 108 frames is way too many for that animation. I bet you can eliminate 1/4 to 1/2 of them and still have it look just fine.

I just got rid of every other frame and changed the timing from .03 to .05. and .08. Whaddya think? Only 90KB now.
