Ipod's.... Worth It? - TallDarkandDisfigured - 03-18-2006 OK so the little lady would like an iPod for exercising and such, I was looking at them and there are a few to chose from. Nano, Mini or Shuffle. Anyone care to chime in to say what\'s what? Is one better and why.. you know, all that crap. Ipod's.... Worth It? - SPAZ - 03-18-2006 yes get a 60 gig thats what I have and I have like only 2.5 gb on there and thats like 3 full days of songs heres a link to the one I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A3WS8...5Fencoding=UTF8 Ipod's.... Worth It? - Mr_Cynical - 03-18-2006 I suppose it depends on the user. I find the high gigs senseless but that is because I will never listen to that many songs. I have a mp3 headunit in my car and I hardly ever feel it up with more then 75 songs, even if I can think of more, I hardly ever listen to them when they are on the there. If you love music and you want a load of variety then the higher gig would be great. Ipod's.... Worth It? - EverythingJason - 03-18-2006 I recently received an Ipod Nano for my birthday from my wife and I absolutely love it. It\'s the 4 GB version and that is MORE than enough space for songs. I have about 560 songs on it right now as well as other files that I store on it for backup and it is only about half full. In the end it all depends on what you are planning to do with it. Do you want to watch movies on it? Do you just want to listen to music? Do you want to see pictures? The Ipod Nano is really nice and has quite a few features like synchronizing your outlook contacts and ebooks and all that, plus if you have some computer knowledge there is a "fix" so that you CAN play videos on an ipod Nano (it doesn\'t play videos right out of the box). Ipod's.... Worth It? - TallDarkandDisfigured - 03-18-2006 If it were for me, I think the Nano would be my choice cause I like to "fix" things. But for her I think something smaller would work fine. So what is the difference between an MP3 player and an iPod shuffle? Anything at all other than a name? Ipod's.... Worth It? - scabboy - 03-18-2006 If you have a lot of media files, and you travel regularly, then yes. Or even if you work out to music, work in place where you can play them, travel, etc. Very nice resource. Ipod's.... Worth It? - EverythingJason - 03-18-2006 Personally I haven\'t seen an Ipod Shuffle up close, but one of the major differences is of course that it doesn\'t have a display screen which personally I wouldn\'t like because it might make it harder to select single songs. Second is the size. I think the Ipod Shuffle stores up to 240 songs (which is quite a few songs, don\'t get me wrong) as opposed to the bigger sized Nanos or whichever one you want to go for. One thing that would make me choose an Ipod over your regular mp3 player is the quality and the warranty you can get as well as the ultra smooth syncing with Itunes and general installation. Now again, it all depends what you are planning to do with it. If you only want to listen to a few tunes while running a treadmill or jogging or what not a regular off the shelf mp3 player will do you just fine and will save you a lot of money, but if you are looking for something more long term that will last you a while and allows you other features I would go with an apple product. Hope this helps! |
