Latex Shrinkage - Hackdroot - 05-17-2006 I know this probably depends on the type of latex used (I use mask latex from Douglas and Sturgis myself), I was wondering what a good rule of thumb for latex shrinkage is. Lets say I want to make a mask that will fit an average 24" head size. Assuming I am going to make a latex master and mold a one piece from it, how big should my sculpture be to be safe? Latex Shrinkage - GBeninati - 05-17-2006 26 inches Latex Shrinkage - D-bach - 05-17-2006 so is for the perfect h1? Latex Shrinkage - Hackdroot - 05-17-2006 Quote:so is for the perfect h1? Huh? ![]() Latex Shrinkage - D-bach - 05-17-2006 i thought you were gonna do a h1, mybad Latex Shrinkage - CreepingDead - 05-17-2006 Your finished piece then will be about 30% smaller than your sculpture. Latex shrinks about 15%, so your master will be about 15% smaller than your sculpture, and then the production pull will be about 15% smaller than your master. It will be my first myers sculpture, so I\'m setting my expectations low. ![]() Latex Shrinkage - GBeninati - 05-17-2006 Quote:Your finished piece then will be about 30% smaller than your sculpture.
