Saw Dead Silence Last Night - WarLocK - 03-16-2007

I have to say that this movie wasn't really a letdown, nor was it anything great. But then again what can you expect from a killer doll movie that has come out almost 20 years after Child's Play (one of the greatest ever)... I'm a killer doll fan nonetheless, so this was a must see for me. It helped that it was free too. I won't go into details of the movie b/c I hate to ruin it. But the cinematography was pretty damn good. There are a LOT and I mean a LOT of influences that went into this film. From HalloweeN, Dolls (1986), Child's Play, The Dummy, the Ring, Saw, Exorcist etc. I could go on and on with that list. The music is actually damn good (although sometimes overpowering) and sounds like a combination of the Exorcist and Saw's first film. Sometimes I think it's better to let the filmmakers rely on the atmosphere more than the cat scares. Now the ending was decent, but it will be very very familiar to most and I won't say why. But it is almost like another movie to a T! 6/10 stars I'm sure some of you guys will actually think highly of it, but I doubt I'll be seeing it again. Guess I need to stick to the 60s-early 90s flicks. There was just too much Hollywood in it for me. The cool thing about the screening is that we all got free posters and dead Mary Shaw walked around the theater the whole time scaring the sh*t out of people... it was awesome! Ok, done here. Signing out.-Chad

Trailers looked really cool. Thanks for the review Chad. I wish we had screenings like that around here with mascots and free stuff...bummer.

Saw Dead Silence Last Night - JigSaw - 03-16-2007

The SAW influences make sense, it was written and directed by the writer/director of SAW, and the music from all the SAW films was done by Charlie Clouser, the same guy who did it for Dead Silence. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> I plan to see this. Don't give anything away, but is there a big twist at the end? <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />

I liked how in the end you can see a very familiar Puppet, it showed him about 3 times......but he wasnt on a tricycle.

Saw Dead Silence Last Night - GraveOctober - 03-23-2007

it was, has a cameo. The puppet belongs to James Wan, the director, he made it. So he made a puppet movie, why not make a doll movie?
