Metallica - EVOL - 05-17-2007

I was wondering what your top album was.Mine would have to be Kill em all! What about you guys?R.I.P Cliff! Found a sweet video of one of my favorite songs ever:<a href=\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68SgQLKnlYM\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68SgQLKnlYM</a>That's really cool. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"B)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" />Metallica is such an important band for me. I grew up on them with my best friend. Still love them today. just as muchas The Misfits and all the other N.J horro bands. Samhain and Danzig ETC. Gotham Road stuff like that....... I know there huge fans of Misfits, Samhain and Danzig. lol that's not how I found them but it's cool there big fans too.I gotta update my myspace and put more Metallica stuff on it.

Metallica - Voorhees Curse - 05-17-2007

Master of Puppets....well really all OLD Metallica....anything after the "Black" album in my opinion pretty much makes me wanna <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sick.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sick\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sick.gif\" /> and even with the black album their sound had changed tremendously. They so to speak "sold out".

Metallica - EVOL - 05-17-2007

I don't really care for anything after the Black Album one either. I don't think they sold out.I like some of it but nothing beats everything up until the Black Album. You had a really good choice, That's a sweet cd. lol I grew up on that. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Cool\" border=\"0\" alt=\"cool.gif\" />I got the figures. Never got the stage though.Oh BTW.Glenn and The boys doing Misfit songs. Doesn't get much better then this.<a href=\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLbxzS3Pqe8\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLbxzS3Pqe8</a>Ah I feel the same way about Danzig. After 4 I didn't like the music as much but I still love it. lol i'm a fan boy with some things.

That's some killer stuff right there. Thanks for sharing. <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Big Grin\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />EDIT: The selling out thing that I said was actually a friend of mines opinion. lol I can't really speak for the earlier stages of Metallica because some of it came out before I was alive. But this guy...my co-worker/friend, WORSHIPS early Metallica. I mean, he went through the entire "headbanging" stage and went to many of their earlier concerts. Still has neck problems because of it to this day...lol. But anyway, "selling out" is what he calls it. I must say that their sound has changed ALOT over the years and some think for the better and some seem to think otherwise. I will say one thing though, a friend of mine teaches guitar and he says everyone wants to learn "master of puppets" and not "enter sandman". I admire earlier Metallica more so because I think to myself "wow, that guitar solo sure would be hard to play". They even attempted to "try" and go back to their old sound with the "St. anger" album and failed miserably in my opinion. I suppose the main reason people say that Metallica sold out is because with the "black" album they totally changed their sound....in fact many early metallica fans HATE the black album because it is when all of the large fan base came in. Many older metallica fans hated the new fans that started liking them with the "black" album lol Strange I know but it's true. Think of it this way....Friday the 13th part 1-8 are your favorites....then with JGTH you hate it....why? BECAUSE FREAKIN' JASON WAS HARDLY IN THE MOVIE!!! Same thing as with Metallica....when they changed their sound, they may have gained alot of newer fans but as well they lost older fans. Strange analogy I know but it makes sense if you think about it. It's all about preference. What someone else likes, you may not. Ya know? This is why many older Metallica fans say that they "sold out" with the black album. There's a certain quality of sound missing that was there before and is suddenly taken away.

Metallica - CreepingDeath - 05-17-2007

Metallica - vezolution - 05-17-2007

Kill'em All is probably my fav, but there is something I love about ...And Justice for All.

Metallica - Macleod - 05-17-2007

I don't have a favorite Metallica album. I like every song between the Kill'em all and the Black album era, in other words "the old Metallica". After the Black album I like some of their songs, it's true some of them aren't that good, but they're still Metallica and I love them.

Metallica - WarLocK - 05-17-2007

I don't care what anyone says about their black album, it's what introduced me to Metallica in 1990! I absolutely love that CD and can still listen to it over and over again.... sure they changed their sound, but honestly I think it was for the better. W/out that change, they would still be talked about as much as Megadeth. My personal favorite is S&M, but that's because it's so powerful - Hero of the Day and No leaf Clover are my favs on that one. After listening to the black album for over a year I decided to venture out and listen to their older tracks. Master of Puppets is definately way up there as one of the greatest metal albums ever. I also love And Justice for All. I wish they still had the umph... but ever band has their era. Rock on Metallica - you're a legend.

Metallica - Macleod - 05-17-2007

Yeah I had forgotten about S&M, your right man, that's a great album and you're right from that album the best songs are Puppets,Clover and Hero of the Day. Hero of the Day is also my fav from Load.
