Air Brush Question - Earl - 05-01-2008

I am hoping someone can help me out with this one. What is a good starter air brush for learning to paint with latex paint? I'm assuming the paint is too thick for some air brushes. Thanks for the help guys.

A badger 350 is a good starter. $30.00 and easy to clean making it a nice beginner air brush. Not complicated at all. I still use mine. I go back and forth with that and a Paasche VL for finer detail.

My work-horse for thicker mediums and broad coverage is the Paasche H. You can get different size nozzles too. The brush is relatively inexpensive and is used by amature and pros alike. You can find them on ebay....but don't go over $40. I've seen them for as low as $20!FYI- This is a single action brush.....but with the interchangeable nozzles (some guys customize them),you'll have a wide range of use. Some FX guys use it exclusively!

for a newb id use single actionsingle action means if you push the button paint and air come out together at oncedouble action you push down for air and pull back the button mechanism you have alot more control I use double action for detail like speckling or if you paint something to look like stoneyou can set the nozzle almost closed so it spits out dropsor people spray a load of paint on a posicle stick dripping then hit it with the airheres a good one i have pretty much the same one, Its dual action but it depends on whether you want a cup on the bottmo or tophttp://cgi.ebay.ca/airbrush-set-kit-dual-a...1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.ca/Fine-Dual-Action-Airbru...1QQcmdZViewItem- Aaron

sorry for double post you should be able to spray latex through almost any airbrush, it is thinned (I hear that people use window washer fluid, as it is a cheap source of denatured alchohol)I think rubbing alchohol can damage the latex, isopropyl
