Story Of The Knb H20 V1 Mask? - manicmechanic - 07-12-2008
For awhile now I have found different stories regarding the two production masks used for H20 and why the second was made and all.anyone have the story that they know to be accurate? Id love to know. Iv got ssn signature series #10 of the Chris Durand H2O V2 mask and I have the KNB H2O V1 #17 and would love to have the proper story to tell when people ask WHY were there two masks made for the movie and where can the KNB V1 be seen in the movie?take care guys. -Matt

The KNB mask was the initial mask they used. It looks like a pissed off DP mask with a long neck to me. Not that that's a bad thing. In the middle of filming they decided to change the mask to the Winston one. All the closeups are of the Winston mask. Soem good shots of the KNB would be when he's trying to get to John and Molly through the gate, after Laurie stabs him with the flagpole, and various other I can't think of at the moment. In the beginning of the movie where he is at Whittington's house they use an H6 mask.

yup from what i know , at the begining of the movie they used the mask or a left over from H6 producers cut version , then went and shot the rest of H20 with the KNB mask as you can tell in trailers and a few shots still in the movie if you zoom in . then at some point they desided to change the mask and went with Winstin to make it so they could reshoot all the close up scenes with the new mask . and for whatever reason they ended up using a CGI mask in the kitchen after Charlie gets the corkscrew thingy out of the sink . i may be wrong about this last part but think i remember somebody saying something about a Don Post mask being used as a stunt mask too . mike,

with over viewing the H20 Movie again I was able to see quite a few scenes where they used the KNB rather then the V2.Has anyone else noticed how the CGI kitchen scene mask looks like a messed up cross between the Winston V2 and the Brad Loree Cinema Secrets mask?? I'm still attempting to find info on why they decided to go and use all the different masks in the filming as well as why changed from the KNB V1 to the Stan Winston V2.Also is there any reasoning what so ever to the woman at the start being killed by a H6 mask wielding Myers?-Matt
