An Alternative To Synlube 531 Wax-based Mold Release Agent? - sidewinder420 - 08-05-2008 Hey all. I'm getting ready to pour a master copy using Por-A-Mold. Well when I ordered the Por-A-Mold, I forgot to order Synlube. I was wondering if any know of a good alternative to this stuff that can be found at a Lows or Home Depot? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! An Alternative To Synlube 531 Wax-based Mold Release Agent? - sidewinder420 - 08-14-2008 OK. Here's what I have learned. NEVER use Por-A-Mold in a 2 piece Myers mold that HAS NOT BEEN CURED with Synlube. IT STICKS!!!! I tried a 2x2 spot on the back of a 2 piece Myers mold about a week ago and am STILL trying to clean it. ALWAYAS USE A MOLD RELEASE AGENT ON A PLASTER MOLD!!!!!! I have ordered Synlube 531 Wax-based Mold Release Agent and am still spraying my mold down to make sure it works!!It seems to be eating it up but I'm going to keep spraying until I feel secure enough to use the Por-A-Mold in my 2 piece Myers mask mold... |
