The Batman Cartoon - SNIKT! - 08-27-2008

I was watching some The Batman cartoons today and I recognized the riddlers voice. When it came to me I just had to check and make sure I was right. Sure enough, The Riddler is voiced by none other than Krueger himself...Robert Englund. I thought it was pretty neat. Might be common knowledge around here but it was new to me.Check out this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2diaXGFX-E...feature=related

As huge of a Batman fan I am, I cant watch that anime-ish stuff...."The Batman" just isnt how the cartoon should be. I will take the original Batman Animated Series ANY day. Gotta love Conroy and Hamill <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" />

Yeah I worked down the hall from that crew when that show was made..I sure would have liked to have been in the booth when he did his lines.J-

Sadly Englund is the only good thing about this show. Joker looks like a barefoot hippie with a Sideshow Bob hairdo, Penguin knows karate, Riddler looks like some kind of Goth or Emo and Catwoman has bigger ears than Mickey Mouse. What kind of grass were the characterdesigners smoking?I'll take Bruce Timm's original series over this eyesore anyday.

I don't think it's that bad. At first I was turned off by it, but it grew on me. I'm not the biggest fan of some of the design choices, but I commend them for taking it a different direction. I'm sure they were trying to differentiate the show from the 90's one. I do think the writing is quite good. I don't like every episode, but most I do. The got one that is all about zombies taking over Gotham City, and an episode in the future paying homage to Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. Also, the movie they did...The Batman Vs Dracula. With Englund in the mix as well, kickass for us monster fans I think.
