Movie Hair - mybankey - 03-03-2009

Just wondering if anyone knows what kind of hair they use in the movies? Is it different then what we use to put on masks? For most of the masks I know alot use camel top or mohair. What I am refering to is Leatherface's mask. When looking at the remake special features you can see the difference in the quality and sturdyness of the hair. And yes I understand they probably punch the hair. That is too time consuming and hard to do from what I have been told. Any ideas?

i know in the remake they used a lace with the hair so that they could change it to other masks faster . some used human hair as well . but if you do it that way , you need to build it up alot and not glue it in rows ( if you were to lift up a row then you'd see a huge bald spot ) like you would a myers as the human hair is thinner and it would end up looking flat . lay the rows as close as you can to get that thickness but only if you are going with the human type hair . there's also fur hair you can use but it's up to you mike,

Thanks Mike! I will probably just stick to the camel top hair then.
