<a href=\"http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-a-look-at-platinum-dunes-nightmare-on-elm-street-6448\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive...elm-street-6448</a>Details:1. Freddy is considered a "Child Molester", as Wes Craven had originally penned before it was changed to just a "Child Killer". However, was he truly a molester as the children claimed or did they blame Freddy, a gardener/day care provider, to cover up parental abuse? Does Freddy feel the children lied about what he did and he comes back after the now older children to get his revenge or is he pissed off that they told the truth and exposed him for what he truly was? Either way, he's one angry and evil mofo.2. Characters similar to Tina, Nancy, Rod, and Glenn are portrayed in the film.3. Freddy has very few speaking lines, like the original, and completely lacks any humor and is downright scary.4. The killings are brutal and gory.5. There is a scene where Freddy's glove comes out of the bathtub water while Nancy sleeps.Check out the link for a listen on these and other details!I don't know about you but this is getting me excited!

Sounds great, but still no actor huh? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"<_<\" border=\"0\" alt=\"dry.gif\" /> Well, I'm glad they seem to be taking the basic route so far. I hope they don't change the glove too much either. Thanks for posting this!Quick edit: Not diggin that he's a gardner/day care provider, it was creepy that he was the JANITOR. I think they are trying to make you sympothize for him, but that was never the point of the originals.Oh well, only time will tell if this film will be a hit or miss.

Thanks for posting this. Yeah it looks great. I like the way it's going so far. I think it's funny how they upgraded the names from Rod to Jesse. and Tina to Kris, with a "K". Show's you how much 20 years does. haha

My favorite part of this so far is the fact that Freddy may possibly have been innocent of the crimes he was accused of. They may reveal if he was or not in the film but I love the idea that there's a possibility that he himself was a victim, so to speak. I'd be pissed too.... but that still doesn't justify coming back as a serial killer. Killing is wrong regardless of false accusations. So, no sympathy there. However, it is possible that he was truly guilty of molestation and he's coming back after those who ratted him out. But it could really lead to some interesting conversations between him and his victims if he ever does speak to them. My gut tells me he was truly guilty and this is revenge for them telling on him. I don't think they would ultimately leave any room for sympathy toward Freddy. I'd imagine that they want to make us and the film characters truly scared of Freddy and any sympathy toward him would take away from that fear.I'm glad they changed some of the backstory. It's a reimagining of Freddy and offers a fresh idea. Even Robert Englund said he wanted to see them change some of Freddy's identity. I like what they've come up with.

I'm looking forward to this film. So far I've liked the Texas Chainsaw, Halloween and Friday the 13th remakes so i'm really hoping I will like this when it emerges on 2010. I'm so happy that Freddy has no or very little dialogue which will hopefully make his character scary as it should be. As much as I love Robert Englund I'm kinda glad he's not doing it because he would only do the laugh and the sadistic jokes which just is so not scary. I like where they're going with this script it sounds very interesting. Fingers crossed they do this film the justice it deserves.

I'm not diggin' the idea of him possibly being innocent and a victim himself. Why can't we have a straight up nasty, mean villain? They made us sympathize with Michael in Zombieween and Leatherface in the Chainsaw remake/prequel too. Jason really is the only one these characters that could deserve any sympathy after seeing his mom beheaded in front of him. I say Krueger should be just be downright meaner than a striped snake.

The actions of the parents killing him the way they did doesn't really hint at the the idea that they are the guilty ones. To do what they did would take a lot of rage and anger toward Freddy so he's probably guilty and one evil creep who deserved it.

Just downright dirty and evil and that's what I would love for this new Freddy to be.

eh not into this storyline either

I thought the parents were essentially his peers, in terms of age, and he was going after their children to repay for what they did to him. I preferred the original and it's concept of "Sins of the fathers come back to haunt the next generation" So now, the idea is that he was accused of molesting kids, and apparently killed because of it, and then returning to go after those same kids when they got older. So he'd be less of an "incarnation of evil" and more of a guy that was wronged and wanted revenge. If he DID do it, it'd be pretty cheesy to have him come back for them. If he DIDN'T do it, is he a good guy that suddenly a sadistic murderer because of it?The only advantage I see here is that you can still use Robert Englund because of what the age difference could be, but I think you get that in the original too. As much as I like Englund, you have to think in terms of follow-up sequels, and how much longer Englund could continue to play him. I hope he plays a cameo role though.. like perhaps as living Freddy's father. He should at least appear in every freddy movie possible.Although I'd welcome a more brutal Freddy, I really hope they don't head the route of "lets feel sorry for him." Then again.. would it really make that much of a difference? I mean.. I liked a Freddy who was evil and revelled in that fact, if they can bring that back to the screeen without all the jokes, I'll be pleased.
