Neca Remake Repaint Question. About The Straps - ALLOUTMASSACRE - 04-02-2009
Hey I picked up a couple of the neca hockey masks today and trying to do some repaints. I want to salvage the straps on them though. How did you guys take the straps off? I'm not trying to get paint on the straps or snaps. Thanks a lot guys.

you need something flat like a butterknife or something to wedge the snaps off from the back of the mask.

If you use a butter knife just go around evenly and take your time on them. You can salvage the snaps and straps that way. But personally I don't think they're worth saving. It's just cheap junk that barely holds the mask on.

I have to resort to using leather straps since they don't stretch.

dont try prying them off. I cracked mine that way. simply take some pliers and pull them off. they are not fastened tightly at all so as long as you pull evenly they pop right off.

Thanks guys. I was able to get them off with no trouble. I plan on re-strapping them when I can. I'm doing a custom job on one and need it done by this saturday. I'm not sure if i'll be able to get the straps done, so I wanted to try to salvage the ones that came with it just in case.
