Texture In Clay - caidenzakk - 04-08-2009 Hey guys, can someone please tell me what I can use to make sort of like a skin texture (pours) on monster makers oil based clay ? I tried using an orange but no matter how hard I press, its not making a mark. the clay is too hard. thanks Texture In Clay - thekreator - 04-08-2009 It's useful to have a hair dryer or heat gun to very gently warm the surface of the clay prior to adding texture. Don't heat it too much, or it will just smear.Personally, I didn't like using the small texture stamps I got from MM because it was difficult to get a nice pattern without looking stamped. The edges of the stamps can leave hard lines, so it's best to wrap it around your finger and roll the stamp on.The best way is using ball tools and carefully adding pores by hand... but takes forever. Texture In Clay - Mutilated - 04-08-2009 I've seen several people on The Effects Lab use one of these.<img src=\"http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51d29m8032L._SL500_.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /> Texture In Clay - Dahone - 04-09-2009 Having tools without technique is useless. Trial and error is the way to go.....experiment. BTW, using an orange by it self is wrong.....leaving a negative impression. You need to build up layers of latex on an orange to create your own stamp....then use that on your sculpt. (as stated above, warming up firm clay helps) Texture In Clay - hatchetface - 04-09-2009 You also can mold a little bit of your skin with latex and then "applied" to your scuplt <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /> |
