Hockey Mask Questions - howlingwind13 - 06-10-2009

I've been around the mask collecting business a while, but a friend asked me who makes the most accurate Part 7 hockey mask? And I realized...I didn't know. I'm not much into collecting the slashers as i was at one time. I realized Silver shampain sell movie mold stuff...but I'm looking for accurate blanks. So who makes the most accurate 7 Hockey Mask and do they sell blanks?mike

A lot of people do, scroll down to see one Crash made. But, hell any maker on here can do one up.Just make sure that the small details (that make it accurate) are there, like the right cheek cut, the warping on the right cheek, the shape of the mask, etc.

Yeah, my dumb arse missed that little tidbit.Still, are you looking for blanks ready for paint or just a blank blank? Anyone who sells blanks will be able to provide you with these. You will then have to cut, shape, drill accurate holes and bend the mask accordingly. A blank for this mask will look just like a blank for the 3,4 because it's from the same mold.

If you're looking for accuracy, the man you need to talk to is Crash. Here's a link to his photo bucket,http://s139.photobucket.com/albums/q309/Cr...am/HockeyMasks/Crash is a board mod here, shoot him a PM if you're looking for a finished mask.If you're looking for a blank casting to paint, I can make you an accurate part 7 blank, cut, trimmed, shaped. All you need is paint. PM me for more info.Jeff-

What Howling is asking for is where to get the most screen accurate shape, size ect....part 7 blank. Silvershampain does say there pt7 is from the movie mold but who knows man, i'm just always skeptical. Even if it is it wont have some of the bends on the left side without heating and bending it. Someone correct me if im wrong. I'm a latex man myself and not so much of a hockey mask guy, just going by what i have seen over the years.

I thought Silvershampain's "accurate mask" was where they put castings of the actual film prosthetics on a Kane Hodder bust, and used that to cast a hood... not a claim to having an accurate Hockey Mask. I could be wrong though? Some say there's a difference between the part 7 and part 3 Hockey Mask shapes/holes/eye placements. I've never made the comparison personally, so I won't vouch for that. Frightstuff has an accurate part 7 unpainted Hockey Mask which is different than the part 3 & 4 they offer, you just have to ask for it specifically because they aren't making huge runs of them.. I've never got one, but if I wanted an accurate one, it's where I'd go. As far as painting accuracy goes, I know you asked about blanks, but I just wanted to re-enforce (for you, and the folks that ask after you) that Crash definately wouldn't steer you wrong, there's a few others out there that would also do a good job at varying prices. You have to look at their work and decide for yourself though.. it all depends on what you're looking for it to be accurate to... the lighting, damage, etc all changed throughout the scenes of the film, and the order in which they were shot. You also may be more familiar with the VHS look, the DVD look, or even the existing prop. It's not all the same appearance.
