Clown Mask In Original Halloween - fright-rags - 06-24-2009

What was the clown mask that little Michael wore in the beginning of the original Halloween? Anyone know where to get one, or a replica? As a hardcore fan of Halloween, I feel as though I should know this...but damn, I have no idea...any help?

I seen clown masks the look like the original clown mask, all they really need is a re-paint.But a member on Michael-Myers.net under then name "StarJerk" is making original clown masks out of the same plastics from the original screen used mask.If I find any, I'll hit you up with a PM.

There are some cheapie clown masks out there that resemble the H1 clown mask, but none that are dead-on that I've seen. Starjerk is doing a limited run, but he already sold out. Not sure how he found out exactly the same plastic that was used, that's interesting. I would like to see Justin's take on this mask actually. I think it would be a pretty darn good seller.=C=

To the best of my knowledge there has never been a claim that it is made out of the SAME plastic as the screen used mask because there is little information on where that mask originiated. Probably some "five and dime" shop that was around during the filming of Halloween I would assume. If by any means I made this claim it was certainly not intentional. What Josh is doing is using a vacuum form to make the mask from a plastic similar to what was used on comparable masks during the late 1970's and what the screenused mask APPEARS to be made of. I located a mask of comparable look and we used it for a reference point since it was dated to this time period. The only other H1 clown mask replica I know of is the one Nils did, I think maybe only three or so were made. If I am not mistaken these were made from fiberglass, great for display but obviously not screen accurate in terms of materials used.So the "same" plastic is only in terms of it being a "similar" type of plastic based SOLELY on how it looks on screen and a comparable mask we found from the same time period. Just wanted to straighten that out! Thanks
