They will also experience two modern day blockbuster horror franchises as Universal Orlando devotes its entire Halloween Horror Nights event to bringing horror films to life.Universal Orlando is partnering with Universal Pictures to bring one of the year’s most highly anticipated films, The Wolfman, to life so guests can experience it firsthand before it hits theaters on November 6, 2009. It is also partnering with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to bring the most profitable horror franchise, SAW, to Halloween Horror Nights 19: Ripped from the Silver Screen. Universal Orlando is also using its partnership with Universal Pictures to bring the popular “Chucky” film series to life at the event as well.Lionsgate is expected to release the sixth installment of the powerhouse franchise in theaters nationwide on October 23, 2009, in its traditional opening weekend slot leading into Halloween. The “Chucky” films have become a favorite among horror film and pop culture enthusiasts.Never before has Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights featured such a catalog of horror. Everyone knows these films. And now everyone will get to live them in person. Guests will experience the physical and psychological horror that Jigsaw, Chucky and The Wolfman have inflicted on the silver screen. They will become victim to the mental games of “Saw’s” maniacal killer, Jigsaw. They will come face to face with “Chucky’s” wrath. Been the past 2 years and will be there again this year although I am not all that stoked about the Chucky deal but I am anticipating Wolfman to be roaming through the park ... it would have been badass had they brought all the original universal monsters to stand along side Wolfman! I am going to hit this event and Spooky Empire all in one shot.

I am goign to spookey empire...didn't even realize I would be that close to this until you mentioned that, def going to head down for an extra day now to check this out, have wanted to for years and have never been able to make it to one, should be pretty cool.

Are you staying the weekend for Spooky Empire or just going one day? I found a hotel that kills the Wyndham (which is where the convention is being held) but everyone tells me that its a real pain trying to find parking places and its so much more convienent to stay on site but I am still skeptical and up in the air on it.

I am staying the whole weekend at the wyndham, as I am driving/flying down from Pittsburgh (haven't made that final decision yet). I like staying at the hotel the con is at, did that for mm12, and doing so again for mm13. You can meet a TON of the guests if you hang out at the hotel after the hours of the con, get rinks, roam about, etc. Wound up haning out with Derek, America, and Stu Charno for quite awhile at mm12 down at the bar, and many others as well.

My wife and I were there last October on our honeymoon and even after we paid our regular admission for universal and islands of adventure it would have been an extra 45.00 per person on a peak night where we would have had to stand in line for hours to do one haunted house. If we wanted to skip the line it was like another extra 50.00 bucks per person. It is outrageous but IMO worth it. Halloween Horror Nights Orlando is the best!

I think in the end I will stay at the Wyndham, just seems easier! As far as HHN, its has its pros and cons but one thing I will say, the (Dern, I done gone and growed another head) express pass may cost 40 bucks but its well worth its weight in gold lol.
