hey guys i was wondering the process of making the cracks in hockey masks. im not necessarily working on a Hockey Mask, but a mask i have. its thick in plastic and the desired effect is to make it look cracked and broken up. any help, tips and tricks would be appreciated either leave them below or pm me with the details thank you guys so much for your time and knowledge. mark

Put your cracks in first, and be sure to lightly seal each layer of paint to give it depth, keep in mind to not over paint, there are many ways to get the results you imagine, try to do some washes, and you will see your cracks come thru nicely, its really trial and error, everyone has there own style, im sure youll do fine eitherway, hope i could help a little, you should check out frightstuff.com/frightforum/, there are some really good tips /tricks there...

I'm all for hand tools- cracks look better when done by a razor I think. It's slow and tedious, but it gives you fine cracks. After that swipe it a few times with very fine grit sand paper and do a wash over it to make it look like dirt/whatever.You can also do the whole 'clearcoat over wet paint' trick and then wash over that when the clearcoat is dry. That causes the paint to sort of separate and create a lot of spiderwebbing. The original Part 4 Hockey Mask had that if you see (very) high resolution photos of it you can see the entire Hockey Mask is full of those spiderweb crack
