You should watch an interview with all the Jasons from Monster Mania on youtube, they all talk about how cheap the studios are, especially when it comes to recasting. Unfortunately, it probably is true. Derek was a fantastic Jason.

He is in fact signed on to do another Platinum Dunes film. It does not have to be Friday the 13th. They can literally use him in any movie they make to make good on the contract.take care,Tommy

I agree..They need to bring back Kane...Derek was good but I dont think anyone can make the character as memorable as Kane did...But knowing the studios,They will just get some newby blowhard.J-

I personally enjoyed Mears' performance. I hate Kane to be honest...a very overrated Jason. Everyone always ends I love Kane with "he looked badas$ in part 7".... That's the make-up departments job... I personally do not like his performance... Favorite:1 Dash2 White3 Brooker4 GrahamIt's not that disappointing news to be honest... Mears did nice but many people can play Jason but Derek had his heart in the roll and that's another thing I liked about him. Just hope they dont get any wrestlers..

I agree, Kane's time is over, I don't think he could play "live" Jason at all personally.
