Texas Chainsaw Massacre - jonl - 11-08-2004

But isn\'t there a guy that did that?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Eddie - 11-08-2004

It\'s all fiction except for the fact that Leatherf@ce is partially based on the 1950\'s serial killer Ed Gein, who amused himself by peeling the skin off corpses and making suits and masks out of them. Other than that the whole thing is completely fictitious.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Lewis Tully - 11-08-2004

Did you watch the original, or the remake? Both were inspired by the Ghoul of Plainfield, Ed Gien. The guy was all obsessed with his mom, and he dug up bodies of women who were about his mom\'s age, and he skinned them, and wore it around, he had a belt made of nipples, a box full of female vaginas. He had cups made from the tops of skulls, he also had four skulls on the posts of his bed. He drew attention from authorities when he killed two local women, skinned them, and ate their flesh. He had the body of one woman hanging upside down, in the manner in which one would gut a pig, or deer to clean and eat. He is also who Psycho, and the Buffalo Bill character from the Silence of the Lambs is based upon. So "Inspired by a True Story" is more accurate than "Based on a True Story." The movie titled "Ed Gien" gives some insight as to what happened, but doesn\'t provide any psychological background whatsoever. I feel that Ed Gien would have been one of the most facinating people to interview as far as famous serial killers go... A very interesting case... The best part is, he didn\'t see anything wrong with it. Just a normal day. He didn\'t like killing the women, but he had to, according to him. He also had the flesh from women\'s faces hanging on his wall, like decorations, hence (kinda) Leather-Face. I hope this helps!!!

P.S. The Deluxe version of the re-make has a very interesting documentary on Ed Gien.

Edit: Like 8 people posted in the time it took me to type this....
