Everything he's done has been amazing. Robert Englund himself endorsed JEH to replace him. Who better to give JEH the nod than Robert himself? The argument pretty much ends when Robert says so.

Now I would seriously<b> LOVE</b> the remake if Robert Knepper was Freddy he would have been perfect, he was the best character for me in prison break and every time he was on screen it was just awesome. Haley is a great actor & has been for decades.Not sure why people go after the actors in these remakes when its the guy behind the camera who deserves your scorn.Samuel Bayer who's directing this is nothing more than a hack music video director.
