Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - booman101 - 11-09-2009 for the full article click here - http://tinyurl.com/ylr634mWith the numbers in the hundreds of millions video games and horror go together like peanut butter and jelly but why don't we see more games focused around Michael Myers or Jason? It just doesn't seem to make sense to me... Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - VF 31 - 11-09-2009 i think as its one of the easiest styles of movie to create it is the hardest to convert over to a successful video game. to do it well in this day and age someone needs to think more outside the box of u chasing the slasher, or the slasher chasing victims. Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - IbDaToNeGuY - 11-09-2009 nobody really cares for them sadly . i would have loved to see a jason , tcm remake , or halloween on one of these newer systems but you just won't see them as they feel they will lose money due to it being from a horror movie <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> . mike, Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - FreddysNightmare - 11-09-2009 It makes me angry. They can do a SAW video game which they've just brought out so why can't we have a decent Freddy, or Myers or Jason or Leatherface game? I wish someone would make one. Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - Deadguy71 - 11-09-2009 It's hard to do a first person slasher. Think Splinter cell without most of Sam's moves, or Manhunt with no justification to his actions. Of course the other issue is that the law of averages suggest that SOMEONE will kill someone and it'll all get blamed on the game where you're the badguy and kill teeny boppers with a variety of weapons. You know "He finally snapped and tried to live the game in real life."I think BEING the killer is unlikely to be viable with anyone's legal department. Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - imperialhockmaster - 11-09-2009 I have pondered this myself for many yrs, i have the original nes f13, and it sucks, lol, so ive always wanted to see an updated version, i mean i dont see any barrier problems, hasnt GTA4 broke all the rules of a classy game, i mean they are video games, a slasher concept slasher cant be any worse then what GTA4 actually does now, Snipe innocent people, rob stores, bang whores, sell drugs, blow up police cars, copters, swat. i mean the chaos is unlimited in GTA4, i dont see anyway a game made off a slasher concept would cause peolpe to wear a mask and hack people up, its just not reality, where all the possibilties in gta4 are an actuall reality and happen everyday. Imo the oppuritunity for slasher based games opens a whole new market in gaming, theres millions to be made, can you imagine how bad*ss a jason game would be that was a free world like gta, imagine the possibilties, or FvsJ, Hills have eyes, golly gee willikers it drives me nuts, im sure we will see something in the near future, i was actually reading an article about them tossing the idea around, if i can find ill post it. Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - Mutilated - 11-09-2009 How can you turn an 1 hour 30 minute movie into a 10 hour plus videogame? You can't, because it'll suck. Unless you want to pay $60 for a videogame that only allows you a few hours of gameplay and has no replay value. The only horror franchise to get it's own game MODERNLY SPEAKING is Saw, and they didn't really keep it realistic to the movies, they had to add enemies to fight, minions that weren't even in the movie. You want to have a Jason game and fight a bunch of enemies that have nothing to do with the series? I think that'd be stupid personally. Just sit back and enjoy all the horror games they release, that aren't related to movies. Half of them are better than most the horror movies they have out anyways. Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - jasonfan2009 - 11-09-2009 but all in all it would be great if they could figure out how to put together a awesome jason voorhees game for ps3 or xbox360 Slasher Themed Video Games, Why Don't We See More? - Jasonlivessince1980 - 11-09-2009 even if you had to fight peripheral characters they could make it sweet. maybe like a Resident Evil game with puzzles to figure out and Jason hunts you down at random times. you could even fight the bikers from part 3, Pam's head like in the NES, or Dr. Crews! lol it doesn't have to be exactly like the films, it just have to have Jason in the woods.
