Blood On Hockey Masks - Darth Veach - 11-11-2009 I am working on a part 4 Hockey Mask for myself (finally) and I want to know what most of you guys have had success with when it comes to the blood around the axe cut. I have a good clear red from Tamiya, but I am afraid it is too bright to look like blood. What methods do you guys use to get that dark red/semi-transparent wet look? Thanks in advance for any help offered! Blood On Hockey Masks - imperialhockmaster - 11-11-2009 You can use the krylon triple thick glaze from what i hear, just mix some acryllic colors to your desired look, ive always used a proffesional fx blood gel by cinema secrets, you have to dry it out but it looks great!! Blood On Hockey Masks - Jasonlivessince1980 - 11-11-2009 if you want to get it super realistic, layer it up. your base layer should be the most spread out, and very very watered down. then you'll do a redder, thicker layer above that and make it a little chunky. Mix with browns/greens/yellows/whatever until you get what looks like a good blood color. I think the part 4 blood looks kinda brownish, with just a hint of red/purple. Blood On Hockey Masks - psychosocial91 - 11-11-2009 Mine actually has a little bit of napkin i it,sounds strange but I think it looks really good.I just mixed a little black in with darker red to get a nice dried blood look. Hope this helps!<img src=\"http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt187/decayfx/Photoon2009-11-10at2040.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /> Blood On Hockey Masks - mperaginejr - 11-11-2009 <!--quoteo(post=338632:date=Nov 10 2009, 08:28 PM:name=Jasonlivessince1980)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (Jasonlivessince1980 @ Nov 10 2009, 08:28 PM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=338632\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecif you want to get it super realistic, layer it up. your base layer should be the most spread out, and very very watered down. then you'll do a redder, thicker layer above that and make it a little chunky. Blood On Hockey Masks - Darth Veach - 11-11-2009 Thanks for the suggestions guys. Yeah, my biggest concern is that I want it to have that transparent, yet deep blood look. Hey psychosocial91, I like your pic, you're a Mac guy too huh?! I can tell it looks like you took that photo in Photobooth (it always reverses the photo!) If you go under "edit" there is an auto flip new photos you can check and your pics will always be right way facing after that!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> IF you wanna that is! Take care,Hector Blood On Hockey Masks - JigSaw - 11-11-2009 This may sound weird, but water colors work very well if you keep doing layers. I used a VERY dark red, then some brighter reds and purple, came out just like part 4. |
