I would say yes...can anyone form the city chime in and explain? Last year in my Law class we were talking about a law that didn't allow landlords to raise rent prices, so some older people were paying very cheap amounts and when they died their family would move in and not tell the landlord. I would never want to live in a huge city like NY, let alone pay $150,000 for an apartment the size of some walk-in closets. They brag about owning a place in Manhattan in two years but seriously, how long could you really stand to live in a place like? That's just insane.

That is retarded....The price people pay for apartments in the city is ridicules. Down the block from me is a small 4 story condo, 500sf apartments, $600k each. My house isn't even worth that much. It's kind of a status symbol to say that you own an apartment in the city, especially one in Manhattan. My sister in laws mom owns an apartment on park avenue that she paid $1.2 mil for...I just don't get it, you can by a mansion for that kind of money.-Jeff
