Question For The Tech's... - puckface - 01-28-2010

I've recorded a few things using the video feature on my digital camera. It plays back perfectly fine when I watch the video on my camera, but after I upload it to the computer and try watching it, it only plays the audio without a picture. it's never done this before, but now all of my videos do it. any idea what I'm doing wrong?thanks guys

It is possible that you do not have the correct video codec to play the video type it is exporting. You could try a different player or download klite which is a video codec pack which has just about everything.

Google klite video codecs and install I think will work. PM me if you need help installing it or ne thing.

If it's in AVI form you may have to DL and install an AVI codec. I only say this because I have an HDD camera that uses AVI and my editing program would always upload only the sound, but no picture or a picture and no sound. After Googling it I came across some links to AVI codecs called CCCP (Combined Community Codecs Pack). Maybe research that and see if it helps.

Have you tried to use the VLC player? I use it when other programs fail. It's free and one of the best players I've used.http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
