I will preface this by saying, I have been a member here for quite some time, and for the most part the people here are very nice and willing to lend advice or tips when asked. That being said, why does it seem there are a handful of people on here who act as if they are "too good" to answer anyone's questions. If I have advice or help to give, I am always willing. It is how I am. I like to pass on things that I have learned because everyone is different and no two people will complete a project the same way. And I realize there are people who put a lot of time and research into their props or costumes and maybe don't want to hand out that info to everyone that asks. But when you ask a straight question and can't even get a straight answer, or get a vague answer or NO answer at all, it irritates me to no end. And it's funny to see when they post things like "if you have questions don't hesitate to ask." HA, really? To the people who refuse to help others: Chances are you learned from someone else too at one time, you didn't "invent" anything you do here. Chances are you were a person asking a lot of questions. So remember what it felt like to get the door slammed in your face and how it kills your enthusiasm for a project when you feel you can't get any help.Sorry all, rant over. If anyone else feels the same, please feel free to reply. DO NOT name any names as I have not.

i agree i feel the exact same way as you do bro and actually i went fishing today i do that on most weekends to get away from home and think i was thinking of pretty much the same thing you wrote i wasnt gonna post it but i had been thinking about those exact things but i always ask my self (why is it like this?) i am also a guy who likes to share things even if its sometimes those questions that i dont know much about i still try to help i understand exactly what this topic means so i def..feel the same way 100% ya know its those little simple questions/answers that could help find what you need or what your looking for or even as to those little comments on a new score its several different things that count but besides all that its the effort when we're trying to help each other out is what really count we are a mask collection family as i like to call it and i feel that we should stick together like family would

I hate the two-faced thing that goes on sometimes. I try not to be that way, but maybe I haven't been always helpful.

I agree. I've been around here awhile. I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly on here but most of the time everything is good. I always try to help out when I have an answer to the problem or if I can help out with a project. I'm more then willing to help but with projects. I don't know a lot because I'm a terrible artist and never had that skill so I'm just lucky that we have our great makers on here. I know that goes for me and I'm sure other people. I couldn't really help out with a mask or a glove cause I have no talent what so ever but there are people that think there better then certain people and that'is how people are. I just thank god for the most part that most of the people on here ROCK! but like anything else there are jerks as well.All The Best,Jay

This usually stems from pride and arrogance in the feeling you know something that someone else doesn't know. In other words, they will no longer feel important or "ahead of the game" once other people know these dorky mask/prop "secrets" that they've wasted years of their life to learn. It's really an insecurity on their part, so don't sweat it. When you think about it, it's like trying to be in a geeky version of the free masons or something... You're totally right though; everyone started somewhere.
